SME Instrument
The SME Instrument is for small and medium-sized enterprises
(SMEs – including start-ups) with high-potential innovations that
can create new markets or revolutionise existing ones.
There are three phases:
š concept and feasibility grants of €50,000 to assess the
viability of an innovation (Phase 1)
š demonstration, testing, piloting and scaling grants of up to
€2.5 million with a 70% co-financing rate (Phase 2)
š Networking, training, matchmaking with business partners,
access to finance and markets, knowledge sharing (Phase
3)
Coaching support provided with Phase 1 and Phase 2 grants

The first phase comprises a concept and feasibility assessment, proving technical
and commercial viability of the project

Eurostars supports the development of rapidly marketable innovative products,
processes and services that help improve the daily lives of people around the
world. Part of EUREKA instruments.
