Welcome to
 Ms. Polk’s Class’
 Pretzel, Poetry,
and Pajama Party
Our Class
        (a simile poem)

We work to make good grades,
we are as hard working as ants.
        We study hard,
We are as smart as owls.
     We have fun all day,
  We are playful like babies.
We like to make others laugh
  We are funny like clowns.
Mr. Kaplan
            (a metaphor poem)

       A hard working soldier
       A huge bundle of heart
       A student’s best friend
          A poster of caring
     An ocean of great guidance
Mr. Kaplan is the father of our school!
A Learning Home
              (a poem with sensory images)
Strawberry Knoll is a small castle with great children.
                  We see children working hard.
Children asking questions and teachers explaining.
Beautiful music coming from the music room.
Children screaming outside at recess and giggling in the hallway.
Mrs. Cates baking pepperoni pizza and grilling grilled cheese.
Tasty, scrumptious, and delicious shrimp poppers.
Yummy grilled cheese sandwiches being passed along to others.
We are excited to come to Strawberry Knoll because we get to
                        learn new things.
Strawberry Knoll is our learning home.
