17. Dataflow Diagrams
• The data flow diagram, figure, is a graphical
representation that depicts information flow and
the transforms that are applied as data move from
input to output. We have partitioned DFD in various
levels that represent increasing informational flow
and functional details.
LEVEL 0: Level 0 called context DFD, figure, shows
the whole system in one process.

system’s primary processes, data stores, sources
and destinations linked by data flows.
