1. OPINION ABOUT DR SHANKARANNA DIXIT’S MEMOIRS
Meeting with Dr. Shankaranna Dixit is an example of the hidden
“networking” i.e. inner and otherwise unapparent unity and
harmony and bonds amongst people that brings the people together
and activates the process of individual and global blossoming,
through NAMASMARAN!
In response to Dr. Shankaranna Dixit’s request I began to read his
reminiscences or memoirs as a matter of courtesy, but as I went on,
I just felt like reading till I finished them.
He has written about the memories close to his heart, about the
events and people he came in contact with and who have left
indelible mark in his life.
Reading these memoirs gives satisfaction or a deep solace of
listening to your elder brother, parents, grandparents, or a loving
teacher. This is because Dr. Dixit’s position in writing; is that of a
kind and loving friend who is sharing his valued memories. He has
not even a grain of pride and condescending attitude of
sermonizing from a pulpit.
The beauty of Dr. Dixit’s writing is that the events or incidences,
he has described take you, without your being aware, to the subtle
causalities underlying the experiences of pain and pleasure in
human life! Your paradigm shifts from superficial appearances to
the deep undercurrents. You get inspired to search the truth as it
ignites the flame of curiosity in you heart.
Dr. Dixit does not make any clams of being spiritual or scientific.
Ironic it may appear, but this is the biggest plus point of his
writing, because due to his unprejudiced position you don’t suffer
from the otherwise prevalent and suffocating prejudices of an
author.
2. The people whom Dr. dixit came in contact with; such as Swami
Muktananda, Dattamaharaj Kaveeshwar, Gajanan Maharaj from
Akkalkot constitute the real character of India. The galaxy of saints
in our country throughout millennia characterizes the real nature of
India and world. Dr. Dixit’s narration reorients us to this real
character by shifting our attention from the cacophony of
superficiality, triviality and pettiness.
Last but not the least; Dr. Dixit has included some chapters, which
highlight some lives and thoughts from scriptures, which he found
useful in his quest for the truth.
Dr. Dixit’s efforts would surely help everyone in the voyage of
enlightenment and blossoming of one and all at individual and
global level.
I wish all the best for this very honest book and its readers!
