1 John 4:1â2 Beloved, do not believe every spirit,
but test the spirits, whether they are of God;
because many false prophets have gone out into
the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God:
Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has
come in the flesh is of God,
5. 3 But when the inhabitants of Gibeon
heard what Joshua had done to
Jericho and Ai, 4 they worked craftily,
and went and pretended to be
ambassadors. And they took old
sacks on their donkeys, old
wineskins torn and mended, 5 old
and patched sandals on their feet,
and old garments on themselves;
6. and all the bread of their provision
was dry and moldy. 6 And they went
to Joshua, to the camp at Gilgal, and
said to him and to the men of Israel,
âWe have come from a far country;
now therefore, make a covenant with
us.â
7. 1 And it came to pass when all the kings who were on
this side of the Jordan, 2âŠgathered together to fight with

Deut. 28:1â14 Deut. 27:14â26
8. Psalm 2:1â3 Why do the nations rage, and
the people plot a vain thing? 2 The kings of
the earth set themselves, and the rulers take
counsel together, against the LORD and
against His Anointed, saying, 3 âLet us break
Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their
cords from us.â
9. 1 Peter 5:8 Be sober,
be vigilant; because
your adversary the

10. Philippians 2:14â16 Do all things without
complaining and disputing, 15 that you may
become blameless and harmless, children of God
without fault in the midst of a crooked and
perverse generation, among whom you shine as
lights in the world, 16 holding fast the word of life,
so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ...
11. 1 And it came to pass when all the kings who
were on this side of the Jordan, in the hills and in
the lowland and in all the coasts of the Great Sea
toward Lebanonâ
12. 1 And it came to pass when all the kings who
were on this side of the Jordan, in the hills and in
the lowland and in all the coasts of the Great Sea
toward Lebanonâthe Hittite, the Amorite, the
Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the

together to fight with Joshua and Israel with one
accord.

14. Ephesians 2:2â3 in which you once walked according to
the course of this world, according to the prince of the
power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of
disobedience, 3 among whom also we all once conducted
ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of
the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of
wrath, just as the others.

22. Joshua 9:9 So they said to him: âFrom a very
far country your servants have come, because
of the name of the LORD your God; for we
have heard of His fame, and all that He did in
Egypt,

make a covenant with us.â

Ă Failed to ask God for

27. James 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him
ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without
reproach, and it will be given to him.
Proverbs 3:5â7 Trust in the LORD with all your
heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall
direct your paths. 7 Do not be wise in your own
eyes; Fear the LORD and depart from evil.

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty
hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, 7
casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.

devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom
he may devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith,

by your brotherhood in the world.
29. 21 And the rulers said to them, âLet them
live, but let them be woodcutters and water
carriers for all the congregation, as the rulers

and not pay.

31. âLet us remember that God insisted that the
Israelites keep their oath, even though it
was made because of the Gibeonites
deception. If God will not tolerate the
breaking of an oath made in His name, how
much more will He never break His own
oath and covenant made to us on the basis
of the shed blood and infinite value of Jesus
Christ. How secure are we to have cast
ourselves upon Christ as our Savior!â
