Title: BOB Biometric Solution
Client: BOB (Internal)
Duration: Dec’14 – Apr’15
Team Size: 7
Role: Module Lead
Technology: It was implementation project where all the necessary infrastructure and
technologies were provided by the corporate office which had to be implemented at
branches.
Location: Burdwan, West Bengal
Scope:
BOB Biometric Project was initiated using Biometric Fingerprint devices for
authentication while logging into the CBS (Core Banking Solution) system
Earlier there was two step authentication process, where the unique SOL ID of the
respective branch has to be enteredand to get redirected to another page where the
credentials (user name and password) had to be mentioned to login to the CBS
domain
However, this project brought another level of authentication, i.e. fingerprint
scanning, which involved a biometric fingerprint capturing device that was attached
to the system
While logging into the system user just had to first enter the SOL ID, then the user
will be redirected to a finger print capturing page where they need to scan their
fingers on the capturing device. Upon validation of the same user will be allowed to
go the next page, where they need to enter their CBS user id and password.
