4. Social networking surpasses email users Is email’s reign over? Is social networking the new King? Younger generations don’t use email as much (or at all)
5. Smart Phones to Smart Homes; connectivity increases every minute Open source networks bring hundreds of thousands of applications right to your smart phone. Tie smart phone to your home automation and set your lights, HVAC, audio, video, etc. And the new, new generation of smart phones will be out in 1-3 mos. The ones shown are, well, already old.
6. And don’t forget the iPad… 300,000 sold on launch day 4/4; 450,000 by 4/8 3.5 million+ iPad apps downloaded so far 2010 Sales Projections range from 3 to 10 million units; expected to triple by 2012
7. Social media traffic as a percent of 100 As of March ‘10, Facebook traffic made up 41% of all traffic on a list of popular social destinations. YouTube still dominant.
8. The difference a year makes… Facebook has exhibited strong growth and high volumes of traffic
9. Are online ads back? Search advertising accounted for 47% of sales, or $2.96 billion worth Display was the next big contributor at 23% of sales, or $1.5 billion
