3. What Amazon
Amazon.com sells lots and lots of stuff. The direct Amazon-
to-buyer sales approach is really no different from what
happens at most other large, online retailers except for its
range of products.
Amazon.com, Inc. is an American multinational electronic
commerce company with headquarters in Seattle, Washington,
United States. It is the world's largest online retailer.
Amazon.com started as an online bookstore, but soon
diversified, selling DVDs, CDs, video and MP3
downloads/streaming, software, video games, electronics,
apparel, furniture, food, toys, and jewelry.
4. In 1995, Amazon.com sold its first book, which shipped
from Jeff Bezos' garage in Seattle.
In 2006, Amazon.com sells a lot more than books and
has sites serving seven countries, with 21 fulfillment
centers around the globe totaling more than 9 million
square feet of warehouse space.
