What are Pamphlets??
? Brainstorm ? ? Pamphlets.  What are they? ? ? ? ? ?
How do I start my Pamphlet? Decide on a purpose or theme for your brochure.  Your purpose is: Hygiene in the School kitchen. Choose information to go in the brochure.  Include only the absolute main points.  Remember that a brochure is pretty small in       size so you won’t be able to fit everything.  And, stay focused on the theme. Be concise.  After you’ve decided what to include, think       about how to say it.
How do I layout my Pamphlet? Choose an eye-catching main title and graphic     for the front of the brochure.  Something     that will make people want to look at it. Put the most important information on the      inside panels of the brochure. When the      brochure is fully opened, this is what your      reader will see. Use clear subheadings to break up the      information on the inside. You want readers      to easily get what’s most important. A big      solid block of text will intimidate readers.
Be colorful. Adding color and graphics  throughout the brochure will break up  information and make the brochure more  enticing. Use an easy-to-read font.  Make the font of the body text as       large as possible. 18 to 20 - this size  Headings should be much larger than the body text and make them stand out by using a different color.
Now to the ICT you are designing Pamphlet... Preamble (putting you in the picture): Just like your kitchen at home, the school kitchen is a very busy place.  Whether we are preparing food at home  or at school, we use a range of utensils and  equipment which, if not handled with care,  have the potential to cause accidents. The workstations also pose dangers.  Likewise, preparing food hygienically to avoid problems with food contamination is also very important a school and at home.
Task (what you have to do):  You have been asked to design a pamphlet using your ICT skills on Hygiene in the school kitchen.   The pamphlet must include:     The importance of hygiene in the kitchen.     Possible precautions that should be taken to avoid accidents/illnesses.     Suggestions for hygienic work practices in the school kitchen.
Presentation (what it should look like):    Your pamphlet can be folded to suit your design needs.  If computer access is available, the pamphlet is to be completed using Microsoft Publisher, OR if computer access is unavailable, the pamphlet may be hand written.
Subject Specific Vocabulary (key or important words to use): Hygiene  ICT  Pamphlet   Danger Zone   Bacteria
Language Features (SPELLING, GRAMMAR, PUNCTUATION): Use formal (correct) grammar, spelling and punctuation.   Use clear concise language.  Use clear headings, eye catching diagrams and colour to attract readers attention.
