We Will Go to the House of the Lord
- 1. High Up in the Big,
Beautiful Mountain
We Will Go to
God’s
Sanctuary
- 2. INTRODUCTION
There is a sanctuary, a tabernacle in heaven
that God has created for people like you and me.
Bigger than any church you have ever seen and
more beautiful than all the mansions in this
world. It is a place of worship and safety. One
day, God is going to bring this tabernacle down
upon this earth and the whole world will see.
Yes, the whole world will see.

- 3. WHERE WILL GOD PLACE THE
TABERNACLE?
God’s going to place his
tabernacle in Mount Olives in
a tiny, tiny country named
Israel. This land is a part of
the Middle East. Take a look
at the map and see. Israel is
the yellow country inside the
red circle. With so many
larger countries surrounding
it, you can barely see it!

- 4. WHY ISRAEL?
So why would God choose such a tiny
place to put his beautiful tabernacle?
Long, long ago, God chose this place
as the Promise Land for the
descendants of Abraham, Isaac &
Jacob. A descendant is a person
born from a particular ancestor
(example: Abraham). These people
became known as the 12 tribes of
Israel.

- 5. ISRAEL....A ROYAL NATION
Did you know the name Israel means
PRINCE of God? That’s how special
this group of people were to him. He
even gave to Israel his 10
commandments and established a
covenant with them, which is like a
promise or special agreement. In this
covenant God promised that he would
make Israel the greatest nation, holy
and special and he would give them a
land of great beauty and riches IF they
would obey his laws. And can you guess
what God called this land? Israel!

- 6. A PROMISE BROKEN
Though God was merciful and loving to the people of Israel, they
still did not obey his 10 commandments. They repeatedly sinned
against God, despite many warnings and chances he gave to them
to repent. God became very angry with Israel for breaking their
promise to him. And because of their sins, he punished them
greatly. The 12 tribes of Israel were kicked out of their land.
Many of them were killed or enslaved by foreign nations. The
once powerful nation of Israel, became merely a small group of
people that were spread throughout the entire world. Eventually,
as many years passed, Israel forgot their name and lost their
identity because they became intermingled with other nations of
this world. Israel no longer looked like Israel.

- 7. A PROMISE BROKEN
God not only punished the people but he cursed the
country of Israel, the Promise Land. Once filled with
great beauty and riches it became dry like a desert.
Many wicked nations came over to Israel to live,
claiming it to be their one true land or that they were
God’s chosen people. But this is NOT true because the
bible says that when he returns his people to the land it
will be beautiful like the Garden of Eden. Israel is far
from being like the Garden of Eden. Instead, it is a
place of bloodshed, war and hatred. And the world has
YET to see who the true Israelites are.

- 8. GOD’S GOING TO TAKE
BACK HIS LAND
God hates sin very much and there is tons of sin taking
place not only in Israel but this entire world. One day,
the Lord will return to this world to rescue his people.
He will take back the land of Israel and make war with
the nations of this world. The wicked nations will be
kicked out of the Promise Land and Israel will once
more be beautiful and holy. God will cause a great
earthquake and split the Mount of Olives in two! This is
where he will place his holy tabernacle. It will be a
place of worship, refuge and safety for his people and
will be covered by a ring of fire and clouds.
