2. The Glory of the Cross What thoughts come to mind when you see “the cross?” What feelings do you feel when you see “ the cross?”
3. The Glory of the Cross 1 Cor 15:13 -17 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins.
4. The Glory of the Cross 1 Cor 15:19 -22 19 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 21 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 22 For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive.
5. The Glory of the Cross “ But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world” (Gal. 6: 14)

There is absolutely no doubt as to the importance the scriptures attached to the cross of Jesus. When we speak of “the cross,” we have reference to Jesus’ death and then his triumphant resurrection and coronation. Jesus’ death was not simply the death of a man, a good man. Jesus was God in the flesh (I Tim. 2: 5; Heb. 1: 8).

Imagine that Jesus, God’s only begotten Son, actually died for you and me! It was he, not a sinner, who was presented as the all time sin offering.
The world has never known such power as generated by the cross of Jesus. It has transforming power that all the devised systems of men combined cannot even begin to simulate. It is the message that one died for our sins and has provided us with the means of expiation.
