The nose has external and internal parts. The external nose contains bone and cartilage that form its framework, while the internal nose contains vestibules, cavities, and walls. The internal lining contains mucous membranes that vary from skin to thicker areas. The lateral and medial walls contain important structures and the roof and floor have specific bone formations. Arteries supply blood, veins drain it, and nerves provide sensation and control. Lymphatic drainage occurs to nearby lymph nodes.
