INTRODUCTION
Social Science is an important part of secondary school
curriculum, it form that part of school curriculum which includes subject
matter and activation that enable the child to acquire an understanding
of human relationship, a knowledge of environment, dedication of value
and principles of society and to participate in the process through which
society is maintained and improved. Bining and Bining (1952) defines
“Social Science as the subject that relate to the organization and
development of human society, especially to men to his association with
other men”. Community recourses are a group of services and assisted
programme that are provided to the member of a community for tree or
at an affordable price. Each resources is made available to community
member to help them self reliant and maintain their human right and well
being. Community recourses are important in teaching social science. To
achieve the purpose social science the child must become a real part of
the community in which he lives, interact with it and contribute to it.
With the development of Information and Communication
Technology; People’s way to share idea between communities are
changed from time to time. The common issue is about the exchanging
idea tacit to explicit way. In order to solve this problem, a model based on
blog is constructed. A blog is a type of website that is updated regularly

with new content; most blogs contain short informal articles called blog
posts. These posts usually contain some combination of text, photos,
videos and other media. At this core, a blog just a place on the web that
you can create to record and express your opinions, experiences and
interest. In this assignment focus on concept of blog, its importance on
teaching, learning and research is explained. Here we are going to discuss
about Blogging information teaching and research purposes and utilities

A blog is a personal online journal that is frequently updated and
intended for general public viewing. Typically, a blog contain a
combination of test, graphics and link to relevant websites and other
blogs of similar interest. The ability for readers to leave comments on
individual posts is also an important feature of most blogs. In simple
terms it is a piece of software which allows write an online diary on a
website.
A blog may also contain widgets and plugging to enhance its
functionality. A widget is a small web application, containing dynamic
content, which can be added to any blog. They provide a simple way to
arrange the various elements of sidebar content without changing any
code. They include items such as, the blog roll which is a list of links to
other blog. Other popular widgets are online polls and calendars’.
Plugging is also small web applications that are usually installed with your
blogging software to provide extra features that are not already available.
Plugging support the use of multimedia items, such as audio for
podcasting and video or adding Google maps to the site. Usually widgets
and plugging in your blog will be covered later in the module.
Blog is an abbreviated version of `weblog’, which is a term used to
describe website that maintain an ongoing chronic of information. A blog

features daily type commentary and link to articles on other websites
usually presented as a list of entire in reverse chronological order. Blogs
from the personal to the political and can focus on one narrow subject or
a whole range of subject.)
NEED AND SIGNIFICANCE OF A BLOG
The need and significance of the blog is that it is dynamic. That is it
can be updated and it allow the visitor to communicate through the
comment section attached to each individual post. The other significant
characteristics of today’s blog are.
 A blog layout contains a header, footer and content usually there is at
least one sidebar running beside the content.
 Categories of posts.
 That reader can access the achieves, previous posts.
 That posts can contain test and images [and often video and other
media].
 That post can contain links to other posts, both within blog and to the
entire web.
 Should contain a contact page and form.
 Should contain about page.
In today’s world a blog may contain many other elements, such as
display of recent posts, a pluggin that automatically sends a new post

details to Twitter and Face book, image galleries and the ability to turn
the post in an easy to print document.
COMPONENTS OF THE BLOG
There are four components for a blog,
a) The Header: - It usually consist of an image with the name of the
blog in this case blog basics. On many sites the blog’s name and tag
line are displayed as text, usually stylized, rather than as an image.
This can potentially up the loading time of your blog a provide
marginal speed, search engine benefits.
b) Content area: - This is the section where the content is displayed. In
order blogging system full blog posts, mostly text based, were
displayed in reverse chronological order.
c) (c) The Footer:- usually a footer displays copy right ,some basic
information about the site and ownership. However some footer
can be very elaborate. This encourages his visitors to curly on
clicking to view content in other sections of the site.
d) (d) Side bar: - It can be very useful to improve site navigation and
add enhancement to the blog.

TYPES OF BLOG
There are many different types of blogs, they are,
a) Personal:- This is the broadest catabolic and includes blog that about
personal topics like politics , music, family, travel, health etc.
b) Business:- professionals ranging from realtors to lawyers and stock
brokers are using it to share their expertise and companies have
discovered the power of blogs to personally engage with their
customers.
c) Schools:- Gate way for teacher and students to collaborate on
classroom projects.
d) Non-profits:- Foundation, charities, and human rights groups find our
blogs to be great tools to raise awareness and money of their causes.
e) Politics:- Members of parliament, political parties, government
agencies and activities using our blogs to connect with their
constituencies.
f) Private:- some people make their blogs private to share photos and
information within families, companies or schools.)
BLOGGING IN EDUCATION TEACHING AND LEARNING
A blog that is used for educational purpose is called Edublog. It is
archive and support student and teacher learning by facilitating
reflection, questioning by self and other, collaboration and by providing

context for engaging in higher order thinking. The use of blogs has
become popular in education institutions including public school and
colleges. Blogs can be useful tools for sharing information and tips among
co-workers, providing information for students or keeping in contacted
with people.
BLOGGING IN EDUCATION
Education blogs are used for communication,
a) Between teachers for professional development.
b) Between teachers and students for provision of course content.
c) Between teachers and students in creating of e- port folios
d) Between school and students /parents for communication of current
events, online newsletter.
e) Between students for collaboration and project work.
f) Between students for displaying club / society information and news.
Teacher Blogs
There are many teacher related blogs on the internet where
teachers can share information with one another. Teachers familiarize
themselves with edublog before implementing them with their students.
Many teachers share material and ideas to meet the diverse need of all
learners in their classrooms. Teachers can often rely on these sources to
communicate with one another regarding any issues in education that
they may be having, including classroom management techniques and

policies. In this way, the blog often acts as a support system for teacher
where they can access ideas, tools and gain support and recognition.
From other professional in their field. Weblogs can provide a forum for
reading writing and collaborating.
Edublogs can be used as instruction resources in which teacher can
post tips, explanation or samples to help students team. The use of blogs
in the classroom allows both the teachers and student the ability to edit
and add content at any time. The ability for both the teacher and student
to edit content allows for study to take place outside the classroom
environment, since blogs can usually by accessed using the URL of the
blog on any computer. Teacher are using blog as a way to post important
information such as homework, important dates, missed lesson, project,
discussion boards and other useful classroom information that is
accessible by all.
Teachers and parents can also use blog in order to communicate
with one another. They can be used to post class announcement for
parent or providing schedule reminders. Connecting to a teacher’s blog is
also a convenient way for parents to find out daily assignments so they
can monitor their children’s progress and understand classroom
expectations.

a) Become involved in the publishing process and write to the web `as
well as `read to the web’
b) Reach a wider audience [beyond their classroom]
c) Develop a sense of ownership and responsibility for their work.
d) Collaborate through receiving and providing feedback.
HOW TO PROMOTE RESEARCH THROUGH BLOGGING
Our time is precious and setting up a blog, writing regular posts and
gaining following isn’t necessarily at the top of your reader. However with
more and more journals incorporating blogs as part of their online
presence and an increasing number of academics blogging regularly
here’s why you should too and how to get the most from your efforts.
Blog will help to refine writing skills. Blog are more widely read than
academic journals and textbook. So while you could be writing for a
broad audience, your posts will still need to hold up to academic securing
while being accessible.
Blogging is also a great aid to discover ability .Every time you write a
blog post, you are creating content that can be shared via social media, as

well as providing a cue to search engine that your website is active.
Additionally non – academics find it a lot easier to access a blog than to
find their way around journals and pay walls.
With a blog you immediately become part of a large network of
bloggers with whom you can share thought and ideas and engage in some
of the cutting edge debates in your area of interest. Not only can this
further enhance your reputation as an expert in your field, it’s a great
opportunity to none your communication skills as well as gain valuable
feedback on ideas and broader your professional network. For early
carrier researchers, starting a blog can be beneficial as your network with
more experienced academics and pick up tips on how to publish or refine
your CV for exempt.
With many institutions and research founders placing a growing
emphasis on open access and community outreach, a blog can be a great
way to reach out the public and engage in meaningful conversation
around your area of expertise. Blogging enables you to share your
enthusiasm for your subject with those outside of the narrow world of
academic may be even inspiring. The next generation of researchers
along the way.

CONCLUSION
People can read a blog on the interest gives them the opportunity
to respond and or give criticism to the blog and may be even supply with
following material. Blogging has changed the info-hierarchy that we
know. The common man has got more to say today and his opinions are
being heard more often. Before blogging the editors of the large medias
decided what we needed to know, but blogging has changed all of that.
Blog also help for teaching and learning and useful for research purposes.

  • 4. 4 INTRODUCTION Social Science is an important part of secondary school curriculum, it form that part of school curriculum which includes subject matter and activation that enable the child to acquire an understanding of human relationship, a knowledge of environment, dedication of value and principles of society and to participate in the process through which society is maintained and improved. Bining and Bining (1952) defines “Social Science as the subject that relate to the organization and development of human society, especially to men to his association with other men”. Community recourses are a group of services and assisted programme that are provided to the member of a community for tree or at an affordable price. Each resources is made available to community member to help them self reliant and maintain their human right and well being. Community recourses are important in teaching social science. To achieve the purpose social science the child must become a real part of the community in which he lives, interact with it and contribute to it. With the development of Information and Communication Technology; People’s way to share idea between communities are changed from time to time. The common issue is about the exchanging idea tacit to explicit way. In order to solve this problem, a model based on blog is constructed. A blog is a type of website that is updated regularly

  • 6. 6 BLOGGING INFORMATION, TEACHING AND RESEARCH PURPOSES AND UTILITIES A blog is a personal online journal that is frequently updated and intended for general public viewing. Typically, a blog contain a combination of test, graphics and link to relevant websites and other blogs of similar interest. The ability for readers to leave comments on individual posts is also an important feature of most blogs. In simple terms it is a piece of software which allows write an online diary on a website. A blog may also contain widgets and plugging to enhance its functionality. A widget is a small web application, containing dynamic content, which can be added to any blog. They provide a simple way to arrange the various elements of sidebar content without changing any code. They include items such as, the blog roll which is a list of links to other blog. Other popular widgets are online polls and calendars’. Plugging is also small web applications that are usually installed with your blogging software to provide extra features that are not already available. Plugging support the use of multimedia items, such as audio for podcasting and video or adding Google maps to the site. Usually widgets and plugging in your blog will be covered later in the module. Blog is an abbreviated version of `weblog’, which is a term used to describe website that maintain an ongoing chronic of information. A blog

Blogs from the personal to the political and can focus on one narrow subject or a whole range of subject.) NEED AND SIGNIFICANCE OF A BLOG The need and significance of the blog is that it is dynamic. That is it can be updated and it allow the visitor to communicate through the comment section attached to each individual post. The other significant characteristics of today’s blog are.  A blog layout contains a header, footer and content usually there is at least one sidebar running beside the content.  Categories of posts.  That reader can access the achieves, previous posts.  That posts can contain test and images [and often video and other media].  That post can contain links to other posts, both within blog and to the entire web.  Should contain a contact page and form.  Should contain about page. COMPONENTS OF THE BLOG There are four components for a blog, a) The Header: - It usually consist of an image with the name of the blog in this case blog basics. On many sites the blog’s name and tag line are displayed as text, usually stylized, rather than as an image. This can potentially up the loading time of your blog a provide marginal speed, search engine benefits. b) Content area: - This is the section where the content is displayed. In order blogging system full blog posts, mostly text based, were displayed in reverse chronological order. c) (c) The Footer:- usually a footer displays copy right ,some basic information about the site and ownership. However some footer can be very elaborate. This encourages his visitors to curly on clicking to view content in other sections of the site. d) (d) Side bar: - It can be very useful to improve site navigation and add enhancement to the blog.
  • 9. 9 TYPES OF BLOG There are many different types of blogs, they are, a) Personal:- This is the broadest catabolic and includes blog that about personal topics like politics , music, family, travel, health etc. b) Business:- professionals ranging from realtors to lawyers and stock brokers are using it to share their expertise and companies have discovered the power of blogs to personally engage with their customers. c) Schools:- Gate way for teacher and students to collaborate on classroom projects. d) Non-profits:- Foundation, charities, and human rights groups find our blogs to be great tools to raise awareness and money of their causes. e) Politics:- Members of parliament, political parties, government agencies and activities using our blogs to connect with their constituencies. f) Private:- some people make their blogs private to share photos and information within families, companies or schools.) BLOGGING IN EDUCATION TEACHING AND LEARNING A blog that is used for educational purpose is called Edublog. It is archive and support student and teacher learning by facilitating reflection, questioning by self and other, collaboration and by providing

Blogs can be useful tools for sharing information and tips among co-workers, providing information for students or keeping in contacted with people. BLOGGING IN EDUCATION Education blogs are used for communication, a) Between teachers for professional development. b) Between teachers and students for provision of course content. c) Between teachers and students in creating of e- port folios d) Between school and students /parents for communication of current events, online newsletter. e) Between students for collaboration and project work. f) Between students for displaying club / society information and news. Teacher Blogs There are many teacher related blogs on the internet where teachers can share information with one another. Teachers familiarize themselves with edublog before implementing them with their students. Many teachers share material and ideas to meet the diverse need of all learners in their classrooms. Teachers can often rely on these sources to communicate with one another regarding any issues in education that they may be having, including classroom management techniques and
  • 11. 11 policies. In this way, the blog often acts as a support system for teacher where they can access ideas, tools and gain support and recognition. From other professional in their field. Weblogs can provide a forum for reading writing and collaborating. Edublogs can be used as instruction resources in which teacher can post tips, explanation or samples to help students team. The use of blogs in the classroom allows both the teachers and student the ability to edit and add content at any time. The ability for both the teacher and student to edit content allows for study to take place outside the classroom environment, since blogs can usually by accessed using the URL of the blog on any computer. Teacher are using blog as a way to post important information such as homework, important dates, missed lesson, project, discussion boards and other useful classroom information that is accessible by all. Teachers and parents can also use blog in order to communicate with one another. They can be used to post class announcement for parent or providing schedule reminders. Connecting to a teacher’s blog is also a convenient way for parents to find out daily assignments so they can monitor their children’s progress and understand classroom expectations.

HOW TO PROMOTE RESEARCH THROUGH BLOGGING Our time is precious and setting up a blog, writing regular posts and gaining following isn’t necessarily at the top of your reader. However with more and more journals incorporating blogs as part of their online presence and an increasing number of academics blogging regularly here’s why you should too and how to get the most from your efforts. Blog will help to refine writing skills. Blog are more widely read than academic journals and textbook. So while you could be writing for a broad audience, your posts will still need to hold up to academic securing while being accessible. Blogging is also a great aid to discover ability .Every time you write a blog post, you are creating content that can be shared via social media, as

Additionally non – academics find it a lot easier to access a blog than to find their way around journals and pay walls.
