OFCOM is the government approved regultary and
competition authority for broadcasting in the UK
aswell as telecomunications and postal. OFCOM has
power across TV, radio and telecoms it has a duty to
represent the intrest of the citizens and consumers in
the UK and to protect the public from what could be
viewed as offensive material.

The PCC is a regulatory body for british newspapers
and magazines. It is funded by the annual levy it
charges newspapers but it has no legal powers.

The ASA is the uks regulator of advertising across all

which are written by the committee. There work
includes acting on compaints about advertising and
to take action agaisnt it.
