2. Michael Heller
Michael Heller's career has been built on over 15 years
of experience in strategic human resources,
talent management and technology consulting. As an
HR executive at Deltek, Digital Management and
Washington Consulting, Michael led teams to develop
innovative human capital management programs
and initiatives. Previously, Michael held a variety of
positions at American Management Systems and
Booz Allen Hamilton where he executed on talent
acquisition, total rewards, performance management,
strategic HR partnership and philanthropy strategies.
Michael serves the community as a board member of
Teardrops to Rainbows, an organization dedicated
to supporting families of children with cancer. Michael
earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from
the University of Connecticut and is currently
completing his Masters degree in Human Resources at
Georgetown University. Michael resides in
Gaithersburg, Maryland with his wife and daughter and
enjoys cooking and college basketball.

talent. Everyone is talking about them and how to
deal with them, from the National news media to
President Obama, who is proposing a tax incentive
for companies that are willing to hire candidates
who have been out of work for more than six
months.
But, as a recruiter, how do you ensure that you’re
recruiting the best talent for your team? How do
you effectively assess a candidate’s skills and
interests and long-term potential with your
organization? And, how do you overcome the
objections of your hiring managers who may not
want to deal with employees who have more
experience than they do?
