The document is a presentation about running SagePFW in a private cloud called vCloud by Vertical Solutions. It defines cloud computing, discusses the benefits of vCloud such as scalability, security and cost savings over an in-house IT system. It provides an example showing the vCloud solution can save a SagePFW client over $30,000 in costs over 3 years compared to an in-house system. The presentation concludes by taking questions.

6. What is Cloud Computing?
Cloud Computing is the delivery of computing as a
service rather than a product, whereby shared
resources, software, and information are provided to
computers and other devices as a utility (like the
electricity grid) over a network (typically the
Internet).

7. What is Cloud Computing?
The term cloud theoretically signifies abstraction of
technology, resources and its location that are very
vital in building integrated computing infrastructure
(including networks, systems and applications)
All Cloud Computing models rely heavily on sharing
of resources to achieve coherence and economies of
scale similar to a utility (like the electricity grid) over
a network (typically the Internet).

8. Deployment Models
Public cloud applications, storage, and other resources are made
available to the general public by a service provider. These services are
free or offered on a pay-per-use model. Generally, public cloud service
providers like Microsoft and Google own and operate the infrastructure
and offer access only via Internet (direct connectivity is not offered).
Community cloud shares infrastructure between several organizations
from a specific community with common concerns (security,
compliance, jurisdiction, etc.), whether managed internally or by a third-
party and hosted internally or externally. The costs are spread over
fewer users than a public cloud (but more than a private cloud), so only
some of the cost savings potential of cloud computing are realized.

9. Public Cloud

10. Deployment Models
Hybrid Cloud is a composition of two or more clouds
(private, community or public) that remain unique entities
but are bound together, offering the benefits of multiple
deployment models. By utilizing "hybrid cloud" architecture,
companies and individuals are able to obtain degrees of
fault tolerance combined with locally immediate usability
without dependency on internet connectivity. Hybrid Cloud
architecture requires both on-premises resources and off-
site (remote) server based cloud infrastructure.
Private cloud is cloud infrastructure operated solely for a
single organization, whether managed internally or by a
third-party and hosted internally or externally.

12. Vertical Solutions’ vCloud
Vertical Solutions has a unique competitive position in
the “Cloud” and AIS/ERP market space for the SMB.
By combining the expertise and experience of our
Technology Services and ERP Divisions, we have
designed and implemented a flexible and cost effective
Private Cloud model (vCloud) to meet our client’s
requirements.

13. Vertical Solutions’ vCloud Model
vCloud utilizes advanced technologies to deliver a
world class, secure and cost effective solution to
hosting our clients’ core business applications (Cloud
Hosting).
Cloud Hosting — A type of internet hosting where the
client accesses virtualized, dynamically scalable
infrastructure on an as-needed basis. Users frequently
have the choice of operating system and other
infrastructure components. Typically cloud hosting is self-
service and controlled via a web interface or API.

21. ROI Example: In-House vs. vCloud
SagePFW Client with Sage M&S Plan
[Implementation Costs (training, migration, etc.) excluded from all examples]
3 Year
In-House Costs Cost
New Server (full cost installed, configured, etc.) $12,000
New Server (MS Exchange) $12,000
Server support services including backups ($300 per month x $21,600
36 months x 2 servers)
Application software - assume 6 User SagePFW License and
15 MS Office/Exchange Users
SagePFW software maintenance and support fee: assume $12,000
20% of license cost ($20,000) per year
SagePFW version upgrade fee = $5,000/year $15,000
Cost of maintaining Server, MS Licenses, Workstations,
Printers with outside technical resource ($75 per $48,000
workstation/month + $2,500 Problem Resolution/year)
Total Cost of Ownership for 3 Years $120,600

3 Year
vCloud Investment Cost
Hosted SagePFW Server, Exchange Server, Storage, Included
Backup, etc. (see Previous Slides for Included Services)
SagePFW software investment (initial purchase) and MS Included
licensing included
SagePFW 6 User software maintenance and support fee: $12,000
(assume 20% of license cost ($20,000) per year)
SagePFW VS annual upgrade fee ($5,000/year for In- Included
House)
One Time Setup Fee = $8,000
15 users @ $145/User/Month = $2,175/month $89,000
$2,175/month x 36 = $78,300
Total Cost of Ownership for 3 Years $90,300
