STORYTELLING
Alice Algae and Freddy Fungus
• Long ago there was a fungus named Freddy. Now Freddy Fungus was very
good at building houses,
• but he wasn’t a very good cook. In fact, he couldn’t even make his own food;
like all fungi, he had to find dead plants or animals to eat, and sometimes he
couldn’t find much food.
• One day, while Freddy Fungus was sitting on a tree stump, he looked over
at a rain puddle and saw something green growing there.
• The green thing looked up at him and smiled.
• “What’s your name,” the green thing said.
• “I ’m Freddy Fungus. What’s your name?”
• “I ’m Alice Algae and I was just making some food out of sunshine. Are you
hungry?”
• Freddy Fungus blew right over there, and people say that Freddy Fungus
and Alice Algae took a lichen (liking) to each other. They decided to get
married. And from then on, Freddy Fungus would make a house and Alice
Algae would make food and they could live wherever they wanted, as long
as there was sunlight.
• That’s why to this day, when we see a lichen plant, we tell the symbiotic
story of a fungus and an alga that fell in love. Keep that in mind the next time
you see lichen on a rock.
FIELD TRIPS
• Field trips give students a chance to
get out of the classroom and
experience something new.
• Enhances the Curriculum.
• Team Building.
• Teachers get to go into more detail
while at the location, to directly point
out certain points she may not have
been able to make with words alone.
• Students are more engaged when learning
through playing.
• Games help students to learn social skills
like sharing.
• Games help in developing problem solving
skills.
• It is the perfect way to channelize energy
of hyperactive kids.
Brochure making
TEACHING WITH GOOD SENSE
OF HUMOR
• Laughter is a natural & universal
phenomenon with beneficial effects, both
physical and psychological.
• Everyone loves the teacher with infectious
sense of humor.
• Cordial relationship.
• Ability to relax students & reduce tension.
• Students enjoy humor in form of funny
anecdotes.
• Newton's law:
A Cow was walking. NEWTON
stopped it.
It stopped. He found his first law,
... "An object continues to move
unless it's
stopped".
He gave a FORCE by kicking the
Cow, it gave a
Sound"MA"!
He formulated the 2nd law,
F=MA!!
After sometime the Cow gave a
kick to Newton,
then he formulated the 3rd Law.
i.e, 'EVERY ACTION HAS AN EQUAL & OPPOSITE REACTION'
• One day BHARTI said to TUNTUN, “I
am very powerful and you are not”.
• TUNTUN replied, “ Madam , you are
mistaken. Let’s run to the second floor and
find who is more powerful”.
BHAR TI took 20 sec by using spiral stairs
while TUNTUN took 15 sec using inclined
plane
Note:- Both have same mass and the
height of second floor from the ground is
20m.
• They were confused, who is more
powerful?
• Then Mr. SIDHU suggested to compare
the time taken.
• TUNT UN B HAR TI
• P 1 P 2
• Who is more powerful?
• Ans:-… … … … … ..
Group discussion
• Develops speaking
skills.
• Is used to balance as
who is contributing &
how much.
• Provides immediate
feedback both to
teacher & students.

I am a scientist . One day , my magnetic needle fell near a
current carrying wire. I observed deflection Then I
reversed the direction of current in the wire and
observed deflection in opposite direction which resulted
in the discovery of magnetic effects of current .Then my
friend Maxwell proposed cork -screw rule to find out the
direction of magnetic field. Another friend of mine ,
Faraday thought in the opposite way that current can be
produced with the help of magnets using a coil of large
number of turns called solenoid and a galvanometer due
to relative motion between coil and magnet. He named
the law as em induction which is the working principle of
electric generator. Later on Mr. Fleming proposed right
hand rule to find the direction of the induced current.

Statements
1 . Buyoant force depends on the volume of the body immersed.
2. A man first swims in sea water and then in river water. He finds it easier to swimin
river water.
3. Density of the substance is the ratio of mass of body to its volume.
4. SI unit of upthrust is Pascal.
5. Foundation of damis made thinner as compared to the topic.
6. Upthrustis independent of density of the liquid in which the body is immersed.
7. An egg sinks in fresh water but floats in a strong salty water.
8. Archimedes’ principle states that whenever a body is fully or partially immersed in a
fluid, the fluid exerts an upward force more than the weight of the fluid displaced
by the body.
9. When W=U , the body floats.
W>U , the body sinks.
(where W- weight of body acting vertically downwards.
U- upthrust acting vertically upwards.
1 0. The level of water remains unchanged ina beaker when whole of the ice melts.

  • 12. Alice Algae and Freddy Fungus • Long ago there was a fungus named Freddy. Now Freddy Fungus was very good at building houses, • but he wasn’t a very good cook. In fact, he couldn’t even make his own food; like all fungi, he had to find dead plants or animals to eat, and sometimes he couldn’t find much food. • One day, while Freddy Fungus was sitting on a tree stump, he looked over at a rain puddle and saw something green growing there. • The green thing looked up at him and smiled. • “What’s your name,” the green thing said. • “I ’m Freddy Fungus. What’s your name?” • “I ’m Alice Algae and I was just making some food out of sunshine. Are you hungry?” • Freddy Fungus blew right over there, and people say that Freddy Fungus and Alice Algae took a lichen (liking) to each other. They decided to get married. And from then on, Freddy Fungus would make a house and Alice Algae would make food and they could live wherever they wanted, as long as there was sunlight. • That’s why to this day, when we see a lichen plant, we tell the symbiotic story of a fungus and an alga that fell in love. Keep that in mind the next time you see lichen on a rock.

I observed deflection Then I reversed the direction of current in the wire and observed deflection in opposite direction which resulted in the discovery of magnetic effects of current .Then my friend Maxwell proposed cork -screw rule to find out the direction of magnetic field. Another friend of mine , Faraday thought in the opposite way that current can be produced with the help of magnets using a coil of large number of turns called solenoid and a galvanometer due to relative motion between coil and magnet. He named the law as em induction which is the working principle of electric generator. Later on Mr. Fleming proposed right hand rule to find the direction of the induced current. Who am I? Oersted .
