Story: The Little Girl’s Christmas Gift The father unwraps his gift from his little daughter – alas! The box is empty. The father was upset. Don’t you know that you must put something in the box! It is a present, etc. etc. After he stopped shouting the little girl was pretty crushed and, through her tears she said: “Daddy, the box is not empty … I filled it with my kisses just for you”. Evidently the little girl “threw” a lot of kisses in the box, because she loved her daddy very much. The father was really shaken up, touched and sorry. He apologized to his little daughter, hugged her and held her close for a long while. He thanked her for her wonderful present. That father kept that present for many years and, whenever he felt down, out and discouraged; when times were very rough he would open the box and take out one or two of those kisses from his precious little daughter.
Slide # 3: Both John (Rev. 1:17) and Daniel (Dan. 10:5-9) fell to the ground when they saw Him.
Slide # 4: Note for Question 4: In Old Testament days men had to approach God through the priest but Jesus changed that. He made us all priests so we may approach Him directly. Fantastic! Note for Question 5: Jesus is referred to as a “Lamb” 26 times in Revelation. As John the Baptist said, Jesus is the Lamb of God which takes away sin. John 1:29. In Old Testament times lambs were sacrificed when people sinned. These lambs represented Jesus, the Lamb of God, who took our place on the cross and died for our sins.
Note: In chapter 5 the book is not named. However, it has to do with the people who are saved from sin. Therefore we conclude that it is the Lamb’s or Jesus’ Book of Life. Our names are recorded in this important book when we accept Jesus as our Saviour. These books are mentioned also in connection with the judgement. Only Jesus can tell who is saved and who is lost. That is why it is so important for us to put our lives in His hands. He then will represent us in God’s Great Judgement.
