Dr. Peter Vogel gave a presentation on entrepreneurship ecosystems. He began with defining entrepreneurship ecosystems as dynamic communities composed of interdependent actors and factors that promote new venture creation. He then discussed assessing ecosystems by analyzing supporting factors and actors, and outlined approaches for starting an ecosystem including leveraging local strengths, taking a holistic and multi-stakeholder approach, and facilitating rather than over-regulating entrepreneurship. He closed with a call for governments, entrepreneurs, and firms to promote and support entrepreneurial ecosystems.
