The VocTeach vision is based on three pillars:
Aggregate, organise and provide easy and harmonised access to teaching resources for FE education.
Our job in the VocTeach project at this time is to pilot a tool that can deliver on this vision.
Our objective is well aligned with Jisc who also identified the need for a search and discovery platform for FE in their report from September 2020.
- By aggregating we mean automatically ingesting content from many relevant community stakeholders players. This requires putting together the right technical infrastructure supported by new protocols for data exchange across systems.

The annotation of content provides the foundation for the third pillar of VocTeach which is to deliver easy, contextualised and personalised access to this content.
The key benefit of Vocteach for teachers will be that relevant training material teachers might want to reuse in their lectures will be all findable and discoverable through this vocteach system.
The VocTeach platform offers tools for exploratory browsing of content, tools for ranking and reviewing of content as well as a Netflix style recommendation system for teaching resources.
