5. âThe Bible, although made up of many stories,
contains a single story within its pages.
Though not evident at first glance, the story is
about God and his relationship with his
creation, the universe. As the creator of the
universe, God could certainly have said much
about the beauty and complexity of the
galaxies. However, he limits the field on which
this divine story is played out primarily to
planet earth. While the earth is marvelous and
in itself speaks of his power and glory, its role
is to be a glorious stage for the greatest story
ever toldâ.
6. âAt center stage stands man, the most
complex creation in the universe and the
true object of Godâs love and affection. It is
this man that would betray God, and yet God
in turn would die for man, and by means of a
covenant bring man into the family life of the
Trinity. This is the worldâs story, invented,
orchestrated and executed by God. By
inviting mankind to be his friend,
companion, and most importantly his son
and daughter, he has made his story manâs
storyâ.

9. Every scripture is inspired by God
and useful for teaching, for reproof,
for correction, and for training in
righteousness, that the person
dedicated to God may be capable
and equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
10. Above all, you do well if you recognize
this: No prophecy of scripture ever
comes about by the prophetâs own
imagination, for no prophecy was ever
borne of human impulse; rather, men
carried along by the Holy Spirit spoke
from God.
2 Peter 1:20-21

12. How are they to call on one they have not
believed in? And how are they to believe in
one they have not heard of? And how are
they to hear without someone preaching to
them? And how are they to preach unless
they are sent? As it is written, âHow timely
is the arrival of those who proclaim the
good news.â But not all have obeyed the
good news, for Isaiah says, âLord, who has
believed our report?â Consequently faith
comes from what is heard, and what is heard
comes through the preached word of Christ.
Romans 10: 14-17

14. âI have told you these things in obscure figures
of speech; a time is coming when I will no
longer speak to you in obscure figures, but will
tell you plainly about the Father. At that time
you will ask in my name, and I do not say that I
will ask the Father on your behalf. For the
Father himself loves you, because you have
loved me and have believed that I came from
God. I came from the Father and entered into
the world, but in turn, I am leaving the world
and going back to the Father.â
John 16:25-28
15. If anyone confesses that Jesus is the Son of
God, God resides in him and he in God. And
we have come to know and to believe the love
that God has in us. God is love, and the one
who resides in love resides in God, and God
resides in him.
1 John 4:15-16
16. By this love is perfected with us, so that we
may have confidence in the day of judgment,
because just as Jesus is, so also are we in this
world. There is no fear in love, but perfect
love drives out fear, because fear has to do
with punishment. The one who fears
punishment has not been perfected in love.
We love because he loved us first.
1 John 4:17-19
17. If anyone says âI love Godâ and yet hates his
fellow Christian, he is a liar, because the one
who does not love his fellow Christian whom
he has seen cannot love God whom he has
not seen. And the commandment we have
from him is this: that the one who loves God
should love his fellow Christian too.
1 John 4:20-21
18. There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives
out fear, because fear has to do with
punishment. The one who fears punishment
has not been perfected in love. We love
because he loved us first.
1 John 4:18-19

20. Biblical Typology:
Typology is a special kind of symbolism. (A
symbol is something that represents
something else.) We can define a type as a
âprophetic symbolâ because all types are
representations of something yet future.
More specifically, a type in Scripture is a
person or thing in the Old Testament that
foreshadows a person or thing in the New
Testament. For example, the flood of Noahâs
day is used as a type of baptism in 1 Peter.

21. Adam Christ
Adam was the first person in this creation. In his resurrection, Jesus is the first person in
this New Creation (1 Corinthians 15:23).
Adam was called the son of God (Luke
3:38).
Christ is the Son of God (John 1:14).
Adam was Godâs administrator or ruler
(Genesis 1:28).
Christ is Godâs Anointed to be King (Matthew
1:16).
Adam was the head of the race (Genesis
3:20).
Christ Jesus is the Head of the New Creation
(Romans 5:12â24).
His actions brought consequences to his
children causing them to inherit sin and
death (Genesis 3:16â19).
His actions brought consequences to Godâs
children causing them to inherit righteousness
and life (Romans 5:12â19, 1 Corinthians
15:20â22, 45â49).
Adam joined Eve and rebelled against God
(Genesis 3:6).
Christ redeemed his bride (the church) by
obeying God (Revelation 19:7â9).
Adamâs shame required the death of an
animal to cover it (Genesis 3:21).
Christ was shamed, stripped and slain to cover
our shame (Matthew 27:27â35).
Instead of closeness with God, we
experience isolation and loneliness.
Instead of love and care for each other, we
experience violence and hatred.
Through Christâs redemptive action, we can
experience true life, a close relationship with
God and his love, and care for others.
22. So then, just as sin entered the world through
one man and death through sin, and so death
spread to all people because all sinnedâ for
before the law was given, sin was in the world,
but there is no accounting for sin when there
is no law. Yet death reigned from Adam until
Moses even over those who did not sin in the
same way that Adam (who is a type of the
coming one) transgressed. But the gracious
gift is not like the transgression.
Romans 5:12-17
23. For if the many died through the transgression
of the one man, how much more did the grace
of God and the gift by the grace of the one man
Jesus Christ multiply to the many! And the gift
is not like the one who sinned. For judgment,
resulting from the one transgression, led to
condemnation, but the gracious gift from the
many failures led to justification. For if, by the
transgression of the one man, death reigned
through the one, how much more will those
who receive the abundance of grace and of the
gift of righteousness reign in life through the
one, Jesus Christ! Romans 5:12-17
