Creative Fixturing Solves Unique Parts
Various machine shops can boast about 5 axis machines and fast machining times. However, the
creativity of the machinist can be more than enough to solve the problems of a complicated application.
Uniquely designed parts often require unique fixtures to provide proper angles to hold the required
machining angles. Patrick Plastics machinists look at every possible solution in order to provide our
customers a quality part every time. Sometimes the part will require two, three, four and maybe five

effective solution that works. A fixture plate is a piece of plate that is clamped to the mill table that has
precision spaced holes, some threaded, and some for dowel pins. Once you have one you can precisely
bolt parts, vises, and other accessories to your table and they'll be right the first time/every time.
