In James 5:19-20, the Epistle of James ends abruptly following a powerful exhortation to do everything we can to bring a wandering and backsliding brother back to God's true faith. This text, in part, answers Cain's question: "Am I my brother's keeper." The clear answer is YES!

19 My brothers, if anyone among you wanders from the truth and someone brings him back, 20 let him know that whoever brings back a sinner from his wandering will save his soul from death and will cover a multitude of sins.

A Brotherâs Keeper knows the difference between Covering Sins and Covering-up Sins.
To Return/Turn Back
áŒÏÎčÏÏÏÎÏÏ is a compound verb. ÎŁÏÏÎÏÏ means to turn. But áŒÏÎčÏÏÏÎÏÏ means to return to a point or area where one has been before, with probable emphasis on turning about â to return, to go back to.
This is the word that is used to describe the way that a dog returns to its vomit.
It is also used in several contexts to simply describe the radical turning of Christian conversion.
James is using this word very precisely to describe the return of a backsliding Christian to proper Christian faith and commitment.
