1. SERMON NOTES
#1: The
Believer’s Battle
SERIES
Ephesians 6:10-13
January 5, 2014
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength
of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you
may be able to stand against the schemes of the
devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood,
but against the rulers, against the authorities,
against the cosmic powers over this present
darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the
heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor
of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil
day, and having done all, to stand firm.

Sunday, January 19

NEW: “Grace” - DVD study with Max Lucado
(Meeting in the Board Room)
Max Lucado asks: Have you been changed by grace? Shaped by grace?
Strengthened by grace? Emboldened by grace? Softened by grace? Snatched
by the nape of your neck and shaken to your senses by grace? Grace is the voice
that calls us to change and then gives us the power to pull it off. Let’s make
certain grace gets you. Attend this Sunday School class and learn about Grace!
Continued: The Gospel of John (Meeting in the middle adult room)
This mixed adult class continues the Bible exposition of the Gospel of John and
will include class discussions led by various Parkside teachers as we seek to
grow in our faith and the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ, revealed in
Scripture so that we may have life in His name.
NEW: Luke: Finding Truth & Healing in Jesus’
Words to Women (Meeting in the new adult classroom)
Jesus often showed women acceptance, compassion, and understanding.
In each lesson of this insightful study of Luke, we will focus on a conversation between Jesus and a woman, showing how he helped free them of their
negative feelings and destructive behaviors---and encouraged them to
embrace healthy attitudes and positive actions. You will have your own
encounter with Jesus and learn how truly valuable you are to him.
If you received a new laptop for Christmas and
wonder what you will do with your old one, consider
donating it to the church to be used in our Christian
Education Wing. We could use a couple workable
laptops capable of running basic programs such as
Word and Power Point. We don’t require a lot of
RAM memory as it will not be used for games.
Thanks!
We’ll be showing:
“Symphony” (I Lift My Hands) with Louie Giglio
It’s staggering when we begin to realize that all creation is singing
the praises of the One who fashioned and formed the Universe.
Yet,
singing stars and earth’s ovation cannot drown God’s desire to hear
your voice. In the midst of a miraculous and immense symphony of
praise, God is still mindful of you, going to extraordinary lengths to
give you life and breath through His Son.
Dr. Seuss’s film “Horton Hears A Who”
Horton, an elephant with sensitive hearing, comes to the rescue of
the microscopic “Who’s” who live in a world so small that it fits
in a speck of dust.
The Holland Sentinel is donating Sunday newspapers to the
church in support of youth outreach. If you would like to
support this cause by making a donation for the paper, the
newspaper rack is located in the front entranceway.
Thank you!
Please pick up your offering envelopes from the table
in the Fellowship Hall. If you don’t currently have offering
