2. What is a MOOC?
MOOCS are massive open online courses aimed at educating and sharing
knowledge about a specific subject or content online. They help teachers and
learners interact with expects in a subject or topic
3. History of moocs
Moocs have been around since 2008 when the first mooc was published.
The founders of moocs are Stephen Downs and George Siemens.
Later in the years Dave camier also became a partner in the development of
moocs
4. Types of moocs
cMOOCS – this type of mooc motivates learning through networking, it
promotes diversity were a learners and teacher can participate. It is not
strictly formal. It is more on informal learning
xMOOCS – this mooc also encourage different participants but has a designed
platform. This therefore means that this mooc is more formal than the other
and involves formal learning.
5. Preferred mooc
I would like to engage in both types of moocs depending on what I wil be
doing, for example if I am giving a formal assessment I will use xMOOCS and
for discussions I will use the cMOOCS.
6. Field of study
BUSINESS STUDIES
From the start I will provides quizzes that learners will participate in to
enhance their understanding. I will try to make them at the end of each
week.
