2. Production of the CD Cover
The first stage was to get the
correct dimension for a CD
Cover.
I then opened up the Magazine
Advert to ensure I had the right
colour I used on there.
3. Production of the CD Cover
I then cut out the picture using
the âmagnetic lasso toolâ.
This is done to ensure the
picture can be placed on
different layers for
example without the
background of the picture
showing.
4. Production of the CD Cover
Once I was able to drag the
picture onto the correct sized
CD cover.
5. Production of the CD Cover
I duplicated the layer in order
to get the same sized image. I
then made the picture black
and white by simply clicking on
the âimageâ tab clicking on
âmodeâ then âgreyscaleâ.
Once the picture was black and
white I used the brushes which
I used on the magazine advert and
was able to create a slight âtornâ
effect on her face to reinforce the
name of the album.
6. Production of the CD Cover
I then duplicated the layer
previously which allowed me to
have a third layer of the same
image. Here I lightened the
image and again used the
brushes to create a âtornâ
effect, this time more then the
picture previously.
7. Production of the CD Cover
I repeated the process
previously for the fourth time.
However, this time lightening
the picture further.
8. Production of the CD Cover
I repeated the process
previously for the fifth and final
time. However, this time
lightening the picture further.
9. Production of the CD Cover
Like on the magazine advert, I
decided to use the font
âMonotype Corsivaâ for the artists
name âAmy Pinerâ. This font
stands out and its clear to read.
I also added a drop shadow to
ensure the name stands out .
10. Production of the CD Cover
Like on the magazine advert I
decided to use the font âTrashâ
For the album name âTORNâ.
This font is clear to read
and reinforces the album
name because of the torn
effect on the edging.
11. Production of the CD Cover
At the bottom of the CD Cover I
decided to add the logo of the
record label as this is
conventional.
