 The bank wanted to positioned itself as a independent bank and to eradicate
confusion.
 The bank was allowed to use the ‘UTI’ brand name for free till January 31, 2008,
beyond which it had to pay royalty for using the name.
 The name UTI bank was changed to AXIS Bank as UTI gave a look of government
sector bank.

44. CSR Activity by Axis Bank
Axis Bank has set up a Trust – The Axis Bank Foundation(ABF) to channel its
humanitarian initiatives.
It focuses on poverty alleviation, providing sustainable livelihoods, education,
healthcare, sanitation, etc.
ABF also supports project in skill development, water harvesting and low-cost
agricultural practices to enhance farm yield.
The Foundation supports the Lifeline Foundation for providing high level Trauma
Care and rural medical relief in the states of Maharastra, Kerla, Gujrarat and
Rajasthan.
With focus on Livelihood Programme, ABF aims to provide 1 million people with
sustainable livelihood option by 2017.
