Residential Mortgage Group donates $100 to local charities for every referral-generated loan. Since 2007, these donations have totaled over $750,000. In the first six months that Second Harvest Heartland was included as a designee charity, 274 clients chose to donate to them, providing 101,380 meals to those in need. RMG employees toured Second Harvest Heartland's facility and learned about the organization's efforts to distribute food to those missing meals each month across Minnesota and Wisconsin.
2. Since 2007, Residential Mortgage Group, a division of Alerus
Financial, has made a commitment to invest in the communities
that we all call home. After every referral-generated loan closes,
RMG donates $100 — in honor of that customer — to a school,
police or fire department of their choice. And in late 2010,
in response to the growing issue of hunger in our communities,
we added Second Harvest Heartland to the list of organizations
customers could select.

has been in place, RMG’s referral-generated donations
have surpassed:
$750,000!
3. In just the first six months that Second Harvest Heartland
was included as a designee organization, 274 clients chose to give
their referral gift to Second Harvest Heartland, which is the Upper
Midwest’s largest hunger relief organization.
Those 274 referral donations equal $27,400, which in turn
translates to:
101,380 meals!
On June 9, 2011, eleven RMG employees took a tour of
Second Harvest Heartland’s facility in St. Paul to get a
first-hand look at the warehouse and fulfillment operations.

massive refrigerator and
freezer storage areas.

of our tour,
volunteers from
Blue Cross Blue Shield
were assembling
boxes that will be
distributed across
Minnesota through the
Commodity Supplemental
Food Program.
