The NC Simulation Station (NCSS) is a web resource
sponsored by the Upper Coastal Plain Council of
Governments (UCPCOG) and the Turning Point
Workforce Development Board (TPWDB).
The NC Simulation Station site will be used to
provide updates on our regional and/or state
progress, the games and simulations we are using,
and a contact page for potential partners or sponsors
to contact us to find out how to join our effort.
As the concept grows it is our hope that more
partners around the state can join us to advance
game simulated career pathways, and build out
resources that help to generate career interest
across North Carolina.

6. Simulation Sample
• Truck drivers usually start out as contractors where
their pay is based on distance, and the value of the
items being hauled.
• Funds that remain after expenses are deducted are
the contractor’s “paycheck”.
• Speeding tickets and accident costs are deducted
from the driver’s final payout.
• Vehicle damages and normal use require routine
maintenance, and those costs are deducted from the
driver’s profit margin.
7. Simulation Sample
• A player can save up enough money to start their own
trucking company, and put themselves in the “boss”
chair.
• This simulation can also be used to teach
Entrepreneurship skills to students.
• A player must manage funds, cash flow, performance,
and save to reinvest in the company.
• If they run out of money they cannot hire workers,
upgrade trucks, etc.
