2. TEMPTATION
In Matt. 4:1-10 we
read about Christ’s
experience after He
was baptized by the
apostle John in the
river Jordan. The
Scripture tells us
that Jesus was led by
the Spirit into the
wilderness where
He was Tempted by
the devil.

3. TEMPTATION
Each time Jesus
felt Tempted by
Satan during His
wilderness
experience He
recited Scripture
to clarify what
God’s Word says in
opposition to what
His tempter was
saying.

4. TEMPTATION
There is Power in
God’s Word.
We too can have
the strength that
Christ displayed in
His temptations if
we increase our
Spiritual
knowledge of
God’s Word.

5. TEMPTATION
It is important to
define the
difference
between Spiritual
knowledge and
carnal knowledge.
Carnal knowledge
resides only in
your mind.
Spiritual
knowledge resides
both in your mind
and in your heart.

6. TEMPTATION
Hew. 10: 16 “ This is
the covenant that I
will make with
them after those
days, saith the
Lord, I will put my
laws into their
hearts, and in
their minds will I
write them.”

7. TEMPTATION
When something
is in your heart it
becomes part of
you. This is why
God wants to put
His Word upon
your heart; God
wants His Word to
become one with
you. But how…..

8. TEMPTATION
The first step to
becoming one
with the Word of
God is to decide
that God exists.
Once you make
the decision to
believe that God
is, the seed of
Faith is planted
within you.

9. TEMPTATION
Faith grows
through Trust.
Trust comes
through
experience.
If our Faith in
God’s Word is to
grow, we must gain
Trust in our ability
to live by His Word
through personal
experience.
9FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MINISTRIES
10. TEMPTATION
We must Trust and
follow God’s Word
in our time of
temptation
willingly
governing our
actions by what we
know through our
Scripture reading
are the Words that
God has spoken.
10FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MINISTRIES
11. TEMPTATION
The more often we
recall God’s Word
for strength
during our
temptations as
Jesus did during
His temptations
the greater our
Trust in our ability
to live by God’s
Word grows.
11FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MINISTRIES
12. TEMPTATION
The more we
experience life
living by God’s Word
the greater our Faith
in God’s Word
grows. As our Faith
in God’s Word grows
our hunger for His
Word also grows and
we begin to want
more and more of
His Word to sustain
us.
12FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MINISTRIES
13. TEMPTATION
This is the
progressive
growth that
Christians
experience. We
first believe that
God is real and
can forgive us of
our sins through
the blood of His
Son Jesus Christ.
13FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MINISTRIES
14. TEMPTATION
Then we repent for
our sins and begin
to overcome sin in
our lives by
remembering
God’s Word
always. When we
are face to face
with temptation
we recite what
God’s Word says
about that
situation.
14FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MINISTRIES
15. TEMPTATION
In our
temptations if we
can state to the
tempter God’s
Word as Jesus did
the power of His
Word will give us
strength to
overcome the
tempter. This
victory over sin in
our lives we soon
learn to enjoy.
15FOR THE LOVE OF GOD MINISTRIES
16. TEMPTATION
As God’s Word is
becoming one
with us we hunger
more for His
Word. Eventually,
we begin to eat
daily of the life
giving Word “The
Daily Bread” to
satisfy our
perpetual hunger.

17. TEMPTATION
