revolutionize the medical field?
• X-rays are used extensively to paint a clear picture of our bones
which, helps doctors diagnose the severity of a fracture or a break
and also help determining if it’s a bad sprain or the bone is
fractured.
• Electrocardiogram is another technological advancement that has
helped physicians diagnose heart conditions with much greater
precision
• An EKG (electrocardiogram) uses the electrical signals that are
delivered to the heart and transfers them into line tracings on a
sheet of paper. Which is read by the patients doctor

7. Medicine hasn’t changed drastically over the years, but new
forms of medication have been found to treat certain
diseases more effectively.
The way medicine is made has changed a lot with
technology. By the way it is mass produced today, where it
is readily available in pharmacies.

8. Why is technology so important
to the health care industry
• New technological advancements help to make health care
easier on physicians for diagnosing and easier on the patients
as well
• With technologies like the iPad. Doctors can carry a little half
pound device that can contain all of their patients medical
records as well as hundreds of medical textbooks and findings
by other doctors that could discover new symptoms that lead
to a certain disease
• Sticking with the iPad, hospitals in remote areas can have a
nurse video call a doctor and do the tests he instructs her to do
with him making the final decision on the severity of the
patient
9. New technological advancements still in
production
• This robotic looking machine is a
new invention that allows
paraplegics the ability to walk
again or for the first time. As well
as a helping hand for patients
that have suffered sever leg
injuries and are learning how to
walk again
• This technology is huge because
it gets them up out of sitting in a
wheelchair all day long
• Next best thing than using their
own two legs
11. • Scientists are now experimenting with 3D printers to
do all sorts of things in the medical field. From printing
biological tissue, to printing medication for patients
• Chemists are experimenting using 3D printers that can
print any kind of organic medicine. Using a specific
chemical ink for each medication and downloading a
blueprint from the internet to print your own medicine
at home. Chemists are still not there yet trying to get a
precise enough 3D printer and regulating this idea
would be a nightmare for illegal drugs.

12. Scientists and biologists are also working on ways to grow new
body parts that are just like the real thing with actual skin covering
them.
How is this possible? By using stem cells from the patients body.
They are placed in a mold along with chemicals then the part is
surgically placed under the patients skin to allow skin to cover the
body part.
Scientists have successfully made many different body parts like:
• Noses
• Ears
• Blood vessels
• Tear ducts
• Windpipes
• and many more yet to begin trial
13. In Conclusion
• Scientists are making amazing new innovations in the medical
field. Its unbelievable the amount of new technology that has
been developed looking back 50 years.
• Doctors can now more accurately diagnose patients illnesses
earlier on to begin treatment before the disease spreads or
becomes to severe
• Although there is still a long way to go on some of the futuristic
ideas scientists are toying with presently. Soon they will figure
out all the bugs and revolutionize the medical field once more.
• I am incredible interested in what will happen in the next 50
years of innovation
