Please note the date on the grant cover sheet is the date that KCCVS must submit it’s package of grant proposals to CNCS. The due date for your proposals is December 1, close of business.
Each proposal will be reviewed and scored by at least 3 readers. The Program Committee of the Commission will review all the scores and make recommendations to the full Commission on which proposals will be sent on to the competitive funding process. The proposals that go forward will be reviewed by the national readers and scored. The proposals that make it through that process will then go through a CNCS staff review.
AmeriCorps grants will not bring financial resources into your organization, it will allow your organization to expand upon the services provided by increasing the human resources, boots on the ground, direct service.

The Corporation requires that all applicants make every effort to submit their applications electronically utilizing eGrants. Complete your application in a word document, omitting any formatting, so that it can be cut and pasted into the eGrants system.
Don’t try to stretch your program to fit each strategic initiative, special consideration and priority No jargon, boilerplate, rhetoric or exaggerations, reviewers want to know precisely what you intend to do and how your project responds to the selection criteria The problem you are addressing should not be described as the lack of the program you are proposing Avoid simply stating that the criteria will be met Don’t assume the reviewers know a single thing about your work, your unmet needs, or even Kentucky
My recommendation to you is to go through this section very carefully and make sure you have addressed each of the bullet points. This is incredibly clear guidance on what should be addressed and what reviewers will be looking for as they score your application.
But you should certainly have end outcomes in mind as you are developing your program proposal.
These national measures are optional for 2010 applications but applicants choosing to opt into the national performance measures will get extra points in the review process.
I highly recommend, as does the Corporation, that you utilize the Logic Model in producing performance measures.
The final outcome might be improved academic performance.
You will be asked to align at least one set of performance measures in your primary service category.
