In 30 minutes, I take you through a mini-version of a process that can help people stuck for months. It's just a taste of the Navigation Process my clients walk through. Still, it gives you a taste of how you can not only make your contribution to the world but do it in a way that is meaningful to you.

How To Do Meaningful Work And Leave A Legacy
1. What Impact Will
You Have On The
World?
An exercise and introduction to the Navigation
process
EMPLLC 2019
2. Has This
Happened to You?
You listen to the advice, and you feel resistance.
Or, you take the advice and it doesn’t feel like it fits.
You struggle with getting started, keeping momentum,
and the whole process feels incredibly uncomfortable.
Even worse, you're not yielding the results you want.
So you think, “Man I must be jacked up, something must
be wrong with me. I have to be doing this wrong”
4. Walk Through My Navigation
Process
See where you might be thinking
small
Understand where you might be
diverging yourself from what you do.
See how you can take more
ownership over projects and tailor
them for yourself.
Understand how you might be
contributing to "obstacles."
What We'll Do In The Next 20 Minutes Is...
Finally tie the things you do with the
things that matter to you most.
Discover ways to shift or start
5. Why This Work Matters
By the end of this brief time you'll:
- Start to find ways you can enjoy the side-hustles, projects, work, initiatives, and
businesses.
- See a connection between the things you do and the impact you want to leave
on the world.
- Begin to appreciate how important your experiences, struggles, triumphs, and
challenges are.
Oftentimes what we are doing isn't what's wrong, it's the way that we go about
doing it.
6. You'll have a better
understanding of what
matters to you.
Come up with your own
personal mission statement.
Settle on the impact you
want to have in the world.
Get more satisfaction from
current projects by aligning
them.
Finish off with your own
personal storytale.
For Our Time
Together
7. What Are The Things
That Matter To You?
Take the next five or so minutes to list the following:
1. List the things you love to do. This can be hobbies, or things like dance or wine.
2. List 3 values that are important to you personally. For example, values like
equity, inclusion, kindness.
3. List five or so skill sets that are special to you, and pick the one skill set feel best
represents you and helps the most people.
8. Start playing the video again when you're ready.
Pause Here For A Few Moments to
Answer
9. Why Are You Here
And What Are You Meant To Do?
To____________ so that ____________.
The first blank is the contribution you will make and the second is the impact. When I
say impact, how will the world look different because of you and what will that
difference be. Name it.
Everything should have a mission statement to
inform. A sort of north star to help with orienting and
decision-making.
10. Start playing the video again when you're ready.
Pause Here For A Few Moments to
Answer
11. What's All Of This For
And What Is Your Impact?
What is the change you to see in the world?
What the world looks like when you’re done?
and ways you’ll know you’re done.
What do you believe the big challenges are
currently? What do you perceive the big
challenge is? And where do you feel stuck?
Take a few moments to write out.
How will you know you’ve accomplished the
goal? What does success look like?

13. How Do You Go About
Creating Alignment?
List the things you’re working on. Volunteer projects,
side-hustles, businesses, charities, all of it.
List projects and businesses you want to start.
Take a look at the list of things you love to do. How
many of them align with your projects? Same for
values, do your projects embody those values?
How about your mission statement?
Find ways to meld your interests, values and
mission statement.
14. How 'Bout That
You Made It Through!
You made it through!
This is a really shortened version of the work we do
with clients, but it should be a good start.
From here, we help clients translate what they
learn and actually bring the projects, initiatives,
businesses, or movements to life.
Making sure all these learnings (mission, vision,
impact, values) show up in everything from the
entity to the contracts.
15. The prompt to
create your own
storytale has it's
own prompt.

copy
17. Meet the impact architect
I help people translate their
brilliance to construct projects,
businesses, charities, and
movements that are meaningful
to them. Using affordable tools,
legal counsel, community, and
resources.
