– T&I WG + InCNTRE Contract through Dec 2014 for 1.3
• Reference Test Code for Conformance Testing
– Big Switch Developing OFTest Framework
– 1.0 test cases developed by InCNTRE. No current funding for 1.3 test code
• Troubleshooting Tools (Wireshark Plugin)
– Lagging in development for 1.3
– Not integrated into main release
• Pilot Testing Program
– 1.0 Pilot completed by InCNTRE
– Currently no commitment to fund 1.3 pilot.
• Certified Commercial Testing Tools
– Certification program and process being developed by InCNTRE
• Certified Test Labs
– Program and process needs further development
• Logo Program
– Ready for pilot test, first test completed as of 8/23.

3. Barriers to Success
• Test case and test code development far behind specification development
• Controller, OF-Config, and Performance Testing not seriously addressed yet
• Work required beyond what can be expected from a volunteer effort
– Additional programs required (test lab/tool certification)
– Complexity increasing for 1.3
– Number of tests increasing significantly for 1.3
– Need more contributors and reviewers
• Existing Business model unsustainable
– Limited number of conformance test requests to date
– Open Source Reference Test Code
– Expected Competition for Conformance Testing Business
• 3rd party developers limited, different goals and not coordinated
• ONF Board has no long term strategy to address

4. Possible Steps to Address
• Address lagging development to catch-up to current specification
• MEC to Develop marketing strategy for CTP to increase visibility and
desirability of conformance certification
• ONF Board to Develop long term strategic vision for CTP with a viable
business model for all ONF members
– Increase Volunteer Efforts and contributions
– Directly fund from ONF member fees
– ONF Fee added to each Conformance test
– Consortium of Interested Parties Funds Program

• Vendors interested in Conformance Certification
