The person who has transformed many lives to make them stand in corporate world. Person who has been a economist, eminent author, philospher, management guru and much more. Would not like to describe the facts and the aura that I have heard and experienced in my stay in my stay in the prestigious institue that I have joined make my carrier reach a distinct heights and place myself to a distcinct pedestal. righttop Sir as figure that has been said by our lectures and faculty and the way I have came to know Arindam sir to an extent that is like a small addition of water in whole sea. Would like to decribe a few facts and his contributions and work done by sir in the field of economics, plannman media and economics that we are aware about. About the Excitement and the eagerness that everyone in ahmedabad was experiencing Its was a time that a great enterprenour an economist, a person whos initiative is shapping many lives and carriers in ahmedabad was eager to meet the dynamic personality and the mind behind the great personlaity. It was like an expectation that what would he say, what would he experience and what would he expect us to react all calibration and permutations that were going to creast and troughs in my and every ones mind. Not even in the my mind but the mind the faculties the plannman members and the faculties also. The Big Day in Lives of many and the venu. Every one was expected to reach the venu (tagore Hall). On 17th november 2009. As the mangemant guru was about to share that experience that never was know to anyone.though we expected to hear the words in philosophical terms the way he has learnt the big rules and regulation of perfecting the life the mangement fundamantals and the perception of many changed in a drastic manner. As all expected sir to give us a transformational principles but the way sir gave us the simple way to be distant winner in mangement and taking our lives to other strata where no one might have dream of. The start and the venu was fully jam packed in expection of sir. He arrived in very casual approach and started the (will not call a lecture but a way to make our lives changed). Sir started the delivery of his experience in lucid but tactfull manner.with India as a country, why india is loved every where. Because we are a nation that is cherrished every where. And gave ample amount to examples that why india is a nation and we nationals to be pround of. Laughter as a medicine he gave us a tool that every person should add in her/his life that is principle of laughter in life. As human has gone ahead and forgot to laugh but has changed the laughter to chuckle in offices and premises we work.rather people have started chuckling 6mins/day. So laugh to maximum to resolve majority of your issues and life will not be that complicated. Casual work approach- people have started to take work that seriously that they have even stopped evn bothering what others are doing in work enviornment. Sir gave an example that a man died in US and no one was bothered that he has died while working because people don’t find time to have a chat but rather only give a glance of hi to each other. So that’s what really mising in everyones life. But when perfomaing at a greater level people do consider all things for achieving their own goals. Like bill clinton former american preisident even changed the way to smile to get more votes. Sir gave weight balance schema that indian people are liked everywhere but not indian products why?. When asked to people round the globe 1. Who like Japanese products all hands went up. French? Few hands went up. American products {all manufautured in china}. But indian name came up no one took there hand up.but america has authentic products like Google, Microsoft,Coke, pepsi. What india has?.even the indian products are marketted by Bangladeshi in europe and america. By indian name. SO the big Question Sir came up was where india Stand??? Sir compared the Progress that the developing world has done and the way we have done. They have masterd from the Vedas and Epics that we had. But we indians are not working up to the fact that developed world is taking help of indian epics to progress even they have not understood it to perfection. In germany small schools teach upnishads and what we are doing is adopting the western culture. Their innovations and their findings but not relying on our technology that was present ages ago. Students and their approach to life Sir told that the way we have gone ahead in life, is that done nothing in school life, had a picnic time in college and realised late that its crisis time to shape up the carrier so joined IIPM. But he emphasised that if we work to a perfection with all dedication in IIPM that could a sharp U turn in may lives, otherwise it would like the same old college that has made us stand here. Speaking about the Use of Geeta our any religious Book that any religion follows what we do is take the –ve part from it and dump the core values that we can generate. He told about his own example that geeta was passed on to him. G.Grandfater Grandfather Father HIM. Pass on to his SON Because no body reads geeta and nobody takes the positive part from it. But his professor took geeta in toilet so that atleast he could learn something out of it. Best example was of Mahatma Gandhi who read geeta and gave us freedom. BASIS of the Seminar was started from this GEETA AND ITS IMPACT. World wide countries take Management lessons from Geeta iteslf. American Context (Hire and fire culture),same is there national culture is similar. You don’t like someone fire him.he also gave an example of henry ford that he fired a person just because he didn’t liked his Shape of nose. Even Jack welsh says “ fire your 10% bottom performers. So the competition to survive becomes very tough. But the oppurtunities that prevail there are suited to that culture. Even the CGPA and Harward works on the principle of How much better u perform if u come in last cadre of 10% you fail. Even Madras unversity where Sir studied work on 50% passing criteria. Central Idea is--- “ never satndarise your goals”. So the american context is the comparitive employement. So even they get fired they know they will get something else. Russian Context is the way that somewhat dictator kind of workability. Force is national and the management cuture is the same.thats why Moscow is a mamoth city on its own and indian city city to reach that height will take its own time.even Ronald reagan the american president onces told russian counterpart why Russian doesnot get democracy. Japnese Context (Hire and Hire) they give 1} endeless job oppurtunity 2} lifetime employement There culture is to BOW in front of others, they cherish their responsibilty to maximum, sir gave an example of Honda president saw a bike asking for repair. He jumped out of his car and started the repair. That means the commitment and passion that they posses is maximum. So National Culture Management culture Japan has progressed Sir gave an employement example of SONY they don’t leave there employee’s. and work on employee retention. But americans work on the principle of unemployement allowance. That’s why 150 companies from japan have replaced american companies in fortune 500 companies list. Sir also gave example of a Man working in toyota tightning the bolts of a car.but his perception is that company and the country cares for him, and he is happy in his job. Indian Context indian perpective is bit complex and the way companies in india have taken it is in there own specific way of working. Examples sir gave were of fevicol-------- spreading the word of emotion. And the work cuture we follow is of western style and not of our own, that is a man working in any organisation is working in western culture and the way he is dealing his personal life is of indian culture. So the mismatch is huge and takes a toll on his perfomance coz. A irritated MAN working some where forced or marries someone then the balance that he has to go ahead becomes a well laid trap for him. ARINDAM SIR way of taking the indian Managemant in Mythological Way. Management and motivation can be done but it has to go with the context of the Mahabharta way and Sir gave a example of Lord krishna and the way he adopted a simple principle of motivating and performance to be lifted to a distinct level. Sir divided the work force in 3 categories that can be listed as under. TAMAS (darkness) ---- 1} least mature 2} irresponcible 3} non ambitious Sir tagged then goog for nothing (G4nothing), RAJAS (passion) -----1} intelligent people 2} tallent pool/ having a talent 3} non ambitious yet they are very gready and jealous Sir tagged them in 2 brackets that people who don’t kow what to do but have talent, other are the people who have to be groomed to be tallented by developing there internal abilities to prosper at there maximum. Sattwa (Goodness) ---- 1} born to change the world 2} born to work for no personal gains and pious heart 3} they can make such a huge impact that they can change the cuture and the work environment. Then sir explained the 4 different styles of leadership that he want every leader to posses and he want every individual should posses in IIPM and make the revolution in himself to potray in the world and change the course of life, because in work environment every human who is working will get different kind of people to work and the way he will have to adopt to the situation pertailing in front of every mangement garduate in the world. Sir compared the leadership styles of LORD krishna and Lord Rama, and told us that Rama was a man of words he had 14/16 qualities in him to be great leader. But he failed in few fronts like Moving to jungle for his dad Taking his borther laxman and wife there Giving his footware as acting raja He also agreed to a dhobi that sita mata was not pious If Lord krishna would have been there he would have handled all the issue with a maximum ease and the resolution to all of these would have been in the bebefit of everyone. Then sir gave examples from the mahabharat and the 16/16 leadership style possed by lord krishna. Where he categorised his startegies and there application in todays managemnet world by management graduates. He divided leadership in 4 segements SAAM (Management by association) DAAM ( Mangement by attraction) DAND (Management by Direction) BHED (Mangement by Delegation) He also gave examples from mahabharata to justify his findings. Arjuna and the way Krishna motivated him when he left his Bow and arrow.giving him examples and way he has to perform to his maximum. Just guiding him by principles of life. BHIMA giving him the order to kill duryodhana and where to hit him so that this insane had to given the perfect orders to fullfill the work. Duryodhana was guided so that he doesn’t bceomes imortal from her mother. Yudhister was asked by lord to speak LIE but manipulated it so that they could kill GURU DRONA. Thus corealting to the fact that yes these 4 strategies still have to be applied in todays world to its maximum application for the betterment of management and to be a true winner in all caders of life. Outcomes and learnings that I got from my DEAN and GURU. Whatever one has to do in his life has to do with perfection. Leadership is an art that we have to learn and apply in practical life.not only mangement but also at home. Guidance that one has to provide to other should be consise and practically proved as a justification to three styles of people. Look, understand, and then apply your principles to perfection on an individual. Mangement is a art and science that are to understood by corporate experience and traits to be applied in own unique way. Thanks FROM Pratik K S Negi Roll num - 27 PGP SS (09-11) ISBE
