3. WHAT IS A (SEA MONSTERS)?
• Any sufficiently awesome water-dwelling creature that we perceive as being
monstrously cool.

THEM AS A
MONSTER?
It's that they're adapted to an environment
very different from the one we're adapted to
live in.
• The really deep ocean is pitch dark
(adaptation function).
• Evolution.

8. Kraken is a legendary sea monster of giant size that is said to dwell off the
coasts of Norway and Greenland.

9. • Although the kraken was usually described as a giant octopus or squid, it has also been
described as a "crab-like" creature. it was believed to cause large whirlpools.
• the kraken was so huge that its body could be mistaken for an island.

10. • The giant squid can reach 18 meters in length and has been rarely seen by humans as
it lives in very deep waters.

11. Hydra
• The hydra is the serpentine water monster in Greek and Roman mythology.
• Hydra was a many-headed, serpent-like beast killed by Heracles.
The myth says "even smelling the Hydra's footprints was enough to bring death
to an ordinary mortal “.

12. • This mythical creature is inspired from the hydra (a genus of small, fresh-water
animals of the phylum Cnidaria).
• Hydra freshwater polyps have a remarkable ability to regenerate.

14. Loch Ness monster
• It is supposed to live in Loch Ness, the largest lake in northern Scotland.
• the modern legend of the Loch Ness Monster is born when a sighting by two tourists makes
local news on May 2, 1933.
• It has a long neck, a pointed head and it’s estimated to be 9m long and has three humps on
it’s back.

15. • Scientists from all over the world started coming to Loch Ness to investigate the
phenomena.
• Although the expeditions came up with no real results they did find out that something
was moving in the lake, which they could not explain.

16. • Based on these photos some scientists concluded that the
20-foot long creature was possibly an ancient reptile that
became extinct with the dinosaurs some 65 million years
ago.

• While the name water bear may be deceiving of size, these creatures are actually tiny
cellular beings, that walk in a way similar to a bear.
• They can survive basically anything, including being frozen in ice, extremely low and high
pressure and no water for a decade. this was assured when NASA send it into space in
2007.

aquaria.
