2. It is a popular misconception that Hollywood is an affluent part of Los Angeles, the “home of the stars”.

3. In reality, however, Hollywood is a low-income area with many unfortunate and homeless people.

5. Each night in Los Angeles, ninety thousand people do not have a home to sleep in.

6. That’s one and a half times more than the entire population of Palo Alto!

8. 48% of the Hollywood homeless have graduated from high school, and 32% have a bachelor’s degree or higher. Interestingly, those in Hollywood who possess homes are less educated.

9. 41% of the homeless adults in LA were employed in the last year.

10. There are 4,800 to 10,000 homeless youth in Los Angeles.

11. Unaccompanied youth are especially common in the Hollywood area because many of them left home and came to Hollywood hoping to become stars.
