• ACCREDITED

5. SELECTION OF ASHA
• Must be the resident of the
village.
• A woman-
(married/widow/divorced).

6. • Preferred age group 25-45 years
with formal education up to 8th
class.
• Having communication skills &
leadership qualities.

7. • Adequate representation from
the weaker groups of
population.
• The general norm for selection of
ASHA is :1/1000 pop.

8. • In tribal area 1
ASHA per
habitation.

9. TRAINING

10. • ASHA is
trained for
her work.
• The training
is of 6 days
(5 times per
year).

11. • She is given Rs. 100 after
completion of training as well a
kit containing necessary articles
such as dressings, tapes, iron &
folic acid tablets.
• ASHA is not given any pay by the
government.

12. • She is given honorarium on the
basis of work done by her.
• If ASHA performs her duties
satisfactorily the she gets
registered.
