1. Define the area of study.
2. Digitized roads and other spatial entities.
3. Collect the accidental data of that region.
4. Overlay the accident points on the geocoded map.
5. Identify the high accident density region.
6. Mark them as accident prone and suggest required
sign for that region.
7. Propose appropriatesign board for that reason.

Reliable and accurate data are needed in each stage of road safety management in order to correctly identify problems and risk factors and priority treatments, and to formulate strategy, set targets and monitor performance. Ongoing, data-led diagnosis and management of the leading road safety problems enables appropriate action and resource allocation. Data relevant to road safety are collected every day, but for these data to be useful for informing road safety practice, they must be properly coded and visualized, processed and analysed in a systematic way. With the road system management strategy switching from 3Es to Safe System, there is additional challenges and demand for the integrated use of various types of road safety data. In this paper, the development of an integrated road safety data management system is introduced. The road safety data management system consists of a geospatial database for storing, querying and analysing road safety related data including crash records, road safety deficiency records, carriageway, surfacing, geometry, skid resistance, signs and road marking etc, and a GIS mapping platform for visualizing and integrating different data sets. Data from a State Highway network is used to demonstrate the potential application areas of the information system developed, such as identification of crash hot-spots, development of safety intervention and safety management strategies, planning of minor safety improvement programme, and investigation of severe and fatal crashes.

Each year nearly 1.3 million people die as a result of a road traffic collision— more than 3000 deaths each day—and more than half of these people are not travelling in a car. Ninety percent of road traffic deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries, which claim less than half the world\'s registered vehicle fleet. Road traffic injuries are among the three leading causes of death for people between 5 and 44 years of age. Unless immediate and effective action is taken, road traffic injuries are predicted to become the fifth leading cause of death in the world, resulting in an estimated 2.4 million deaths each year.

Nowadays every smart phone is integrated with many helpful sensors. Sensors are originally design to make the computer program and application convenient. The smart phone sensors like Gyroscope and Accelerometer are used to estimate road roughness conditions. The collected data is from sensor and easy to manage value in the frequency domain to calculate magnitudes of vibrations. Well maintained roads contribute to a significant portion of countries economy. Roadsense application provides information about rules and regulations (Vehicle Papers, Parking Rule, Distraction While Driving) to be followed while driving the vehicle. Throughout this paper, we discuss the previous hole detections ways in which has been developed and process a worth effective answers to identify the potholes and bumps on the roads. In our application mobile sensors are accustomed establish potholes and the bumps. The proposed system captures the geographical locations of potholes and bumps using GPS sensor among the mobile. These sense data sent for classification and uses algorithm C4.5, AES256 then this data sends for further processing. Finally the data is send to the vehicle driver. An android can be used to display the road condition in the map.

Traffic accident analysis is mainly intended to investigate the causes of accidents by identifying hazardous locations and Accident Prone Locations of accident occurrences and to analyze critically reasons attributing for the same so as to ensure road safety. Geographical Information System (GIS) technology has been a popular tool for visualization of accident data and analysis of hot spots in city as well as in highways. Accident analysis studies aims at the identification of high rate accident locations and safety deficient areas on the roads or streets. Automatic lane detection for driver assistance is a significant component in developing advanced driver assistance systems and high-level application frameworks since it contributes to driver and pedestrian safety on roads and highways. However, due to several limitations that lane detection systems must rectify, such as the uncertainties of lane patterns, perspective consequences, limited visibility of lane lines, dark spots, complex background, illuminance, and light reflections, it remains a challenging task. The proposed method employs vision-based technologies to determine the lane boundary lines. We devised a system for correctly identifying lane lines on a homogeneous road surface. Lane line detection relies heavily on the gradient and hue lightness saturation (HLS) thresholding which detects the lane line in binary images. The lanes are shown, and a sliding window searching method is used to estimate the color lane. The proposed system achieved 96% accuracy in detecting lane lines on the different roads, and its performance was assessed using data from several road image databases under various illumination circumstances.

A presentation conducted by Mr Viengnam Douangphachanh, Tokyo Metropolitan University Presented on Thursday the 3rd of October 2013. Efficient road infrastructure maintenance and management depends on many factors, of which the availability of updated pavement condition data is among the most important. Today’s smartphones, which usually come with many sensors, are potentially useful tools for pavement condition estimation. This research explores the use of data from smartphones’ accelerometers to analyze for features and relationship of acceleration vibration to estimate road roughness condition. Although, the estimation might not be as accurate as modern profilers’, it is still may be very useful for cost saving and as an indicator for continuous monitoring. In the experiment, smartphones are placed inside vehicles and drive along selected road sections to gather data for analysis. The analysis consists of data filtering, matching with location and reference data, sectioning and frequency domain analysis. Results show that acceleration vibration magnitude has a linear relationship with road roughness condition.
