A further observation is that in many cases these dilemmas imply a conflict between the commercial and social interests of various stakeholder groups. However, it is very difficult to draw some general conclusions about when either interest is at stake

Future of Work, Employability and Digital Skills As the world of work changes, how will organisations, society and individuals adapt to ensure that the current and the next generation will be able to acquire the skills necessary for future jobs? Building on previous Future Agenda research that focussed on key policy areas primarily in the Asian market and, more recently, an updated outlook on the future of work and skills development developed in partnership with the University of Bristol, School of Management, we are very pleased to be starting a new phase of research. As well as an analysis of the future of work, this will specifically explore the shifting nature of employability and how and where digital skills will have impact. Over the next few months, expert views from across Europe will be shared in order to develop a richer understanding of key issues and how they vary across different jurisdictions. As with all Future Agenda projects, the aim is to challenge assumptions, identify emerging trends and build an informed assessment of the changes ahead and their implications for policy and action. If you would like to be involved and add your views into the mix, please get in touch.

How we prove that we are who or what we say we are during digital transactions and interactions is set to become one of the defining features of the next stage of the human digital transformation. Today, we are living with early attempts to solve the problem that are no longer fit for purpose. At best, the multitude of different ways we login, confirm our identities, and establish trust in claims made during digital exchanges, has become profoundly inconvenient. At worst, they have left us in a connected world which is neither safe nor secure, and in which we seem to have completely lost control of our most personal information. The next generation solutions to the digital identity challenge could change all of this. At the end of 2018, Future Agenda undertook a major project exploring the Future of Digital Identity. With the generous support of Mastercard, the Future Agenda team ran a series of expert workshops in different locations around the world that explored the key factors that are likely to shape the future of digital identity. The programme began with an initial perspective as a provocation. Participants in the workshops then gave us new, more fully formed, insights which were in turn explored further during one-to-one interviews with major stakeholders and thinkers in the space. We are proud to launch this report of the findings of that work We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to all of those who contributed to the programme. As always, we consider our reports to be the start point for further conversations, and would welcome further input. If you would like to join the conversation, you can join our LinkedIn Group here. If you have any further questions or would like to have a conversation about how your organisation can best make use of our respond to the implications of the Future of Digital Identity please contact Dr Robin Pharoah https://www.linkedin.com/in/robinpharoah, James Alexander https://uk.linkedin.com/pub/james-alexander/0/747/617 or Patrick Harris https://www.linkedin.com/in/patrick-harris-777767/ This is the initial perspective: https://www.slideshare.net/futureagenda2/the-future-of-digital-identity-initial-perspective This was the initial summary: https://www.slideshare.net/futureagenda2/future-of-digital-identity-programme-summary-15-dec-2018-lr

As part of the global future agenda programme we ran an event in partnership with ISPIM in Budapest in June 2015. This focused on the future of collaboration and drew together different issues raised about collaboration from several strands of the future agenda events to date. The aim of the event wss to critique, enhance, add and build a clearer view of how collaboration will change over the next decade and what will be some of the key impacts and implications. This documents includes both the key ouputs and the starting point for this discussion.

Do you wonder what value human rights-based approaches and equitable partnerships can add to development programming? The ICN presents this webinar with CCIC, in collaboration with the Coady International Institute and Equitas – International Centre for Human Rights Education. Participants will be introduced to a Guide that these three organizations have produced in collaboration. It provides concrete and practical tools to help organizations integrate a human rights-based approach (HRBA) into their development programming and begin a process to intentionally develop more equitable partnerships - all the while, helping facilitators run participatory workshops to achieve this, and providing a resource manual for participants in the process. The webinar will briefly touch upon the following: The rationale for creating the Guide two years on from the Fourth High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness, and the choice and centrality of human rights and partnership to the work of civil society. How the guide helps to demystify the human rights based approach (HRBA) by breaking it down into simple guiding elements that can inform and improve program design, implementation and evaluation, and about the value that HRBA brings to the development process. The different forms of collaboration and the power dynamics often involved, it will also discuss how partnership principles can shape a process to generate more equitable partnerships and recognize the importance of collaboration as an outcome.

The eGovernment Benchmark provides insight into the state-of-play of the implementation of digital public services in Europe. For this benchmark of eGovernment services is assessed in 33 participating countries, including all of the EU28. The assessment is done by Mystery Shoppers, who measure the quality and quantity of online public services by acting as a user. Under review is a set of seven life events. Each life event is measured once every two years. In 2014, three life events were assessed: Starting up a business, Losing and finding a job, and Studying. These three life events have also been assessed in 2012, allowing to compare European progress over time for the first time. This report presents the basic analysis of the study and a detailed overview of the measurement and this year's life events. It is accompanied by an Insight Report, which provides the main insights stemming from the facts. The study consists of four top-level benchmarks, covering important EU policy priorities: * User Centricity * Transparency * Cross Border Mobility * Key enablers

This article aims to demonstrate that the Lula government is faced with two major challenges in its effort to promote Brazil's economic and social development. The first challenge, of an economic nature, is represented by the obstacles that exist with the spending cap policy, despite the flexibility provided by the fiscal framework and the existence of an independent Central Bank, which make the Brazilian government unable to coordinate its fiscal and monetary policies, make public investments in the expansion of the economy and obtain macroeconomic stability and, the second challenge, of a political nature, is represented by the obstacles existing in the National Congress due to the fact that it does not have a majority in parliament, which prevents the federal government from putting its national developmental project into practice and fully meet social demands. For Brazil's progressive forces to re-elect President Lula in the 2026 presidential elections and obtain a parliamentary majority in the National Congress committed to political, economic and social advances, the Lula government will have to be successful on the economic front, promoting the expansion of the economy, increasing significantly generating jobs and income, keeping inflation under control and meeting the maximum social demands that benefit, above all, the country's underserved populations. Brazil's progressive forces need to commit, starting from the 2024 municipal elections, towards to elect the maximum number of mayors and councilors committed to Brazil's political, economic and social advances. These are the conditions to prevent, in 2026, right-wing extremists from regaining the Presidency of the Republic, expanding their participation in state governments and the National Congress and putting their nefarious anti-social and anti-national project into practice.

Article in The Times of Israel by Andy Blumenthal: This is not about free speech but about a takeover of America. These vile terrorist supporters are using our very Constitution against us as they falsely cry Islamophobia and free speech, all the while impeding, threatening, and committing acts of violence against students, citizens, and an orderly democracy. It is time for Americans to stop being complacent or fooled by their terrorist talking points and rhetoric of hate, racism, and Communist ideology. In the face of this evil, we are finally seeing Patriots emerge, proudly carrying and defending the American flag, singing the Star-Spangled Banner, and boldly chanting USA!
