2. Spacing Out
– When someone is talking you ignore them and day dream. You are caught up in
your own thoughts and don’t pay attention to what they have to say.
3. Pretend Listening
– This is when you don’t pay attention to what the other person is talking about.
You just say general comments such as, “yeah”, “cool”, “uh-huh”. The speaker
doesn’t usually feel important to you when you pretend listen.
4. Selective Listening
– Selective listening is when you listen to different or some parts of a
conversation. You hear could hear the word dance and start talking about how
you always wanted to be a ballerina. But, the other person may being trying to
tell you something personal and important.
