24. Mum’s story Mum went to Austria a few years ago. She said that she remembers that it had a lot of beautiful mountains and lakes, but also there were a few things that she thought were quite cool. Here are some photos she took! Hohensalzburg Castle This was one of the coolest castles I have ever seen! We had to get a cable car to go up to the top of it. It started to be built in 1077 – so its a really old castle. It used to be used as a prison as well. Seven crosses There is an area in Salzburg where you will find 7 crosses in a grave. A man (Sebastian Stumpfegger) was married 7 times, and he “tickled” each of his wives to death.

25. Mum’s story Salt Mines There are mines in Salzburg that you can go down in boats and see salt everywhere. You can reach up from your boat and touch the salt on the roof of the mines. You have to wear funny outfits to go on the boats so you don’t get wet or dirty. The Sound of Music house This is the house where the movie The Sound of Music was made. Its really cool!
