• Howard Safir, NY City Police Commissioner
• William McGann, Industry Founder
• Paul McHale, Assistant Secretary of Defense
4. What is Trace Detection?
• Trace Detection – the targeted collection of microscopic
explosive residue
• Investigation occurs based on finding explosive residue
and contamination
• Where do trace explosives come from?
• When explosives are handled or touched, they leave
behind residue
• Highly volatile explosives emit vapor
5. ETD Market Opportunities
• $1 billion market by 2014
• North America largest segment
• 43% of world market
• The QS – B220 will increase access to this market
• Asia fastest growing

• Designated as Qualified Anti-Terrorism
Technology by the U.S. Department of
Homeland Security SAFETY Act
8. The QS-B220 Advantage
• Non radioactive ion source
• The advantages of an QS–H150 in a
bench top unit
• Smaller and lighter than our
competitors
• Ability to detect both explosives and
narcotics traces, opening up new
markets
• Targeted toward TSA certification and
air cargo screening applications
9. Technology Proven Effective
• 819 units are in Chinese
railways, subways, and
with police forces
• The Indian Ministry of
Defense has ordered 226
units
• The Spanish Army is using
our products in Afghanistan
10. Low cost for consumers
• GAO report shows that our
competitors’ units cost $10,000 a
piece to operate per year
• Implant Sciences’ cost less than
$1,000
• As government budgets tighten,
our product will prove more
affordable and effective
11. Security with Respect

07/30/13 QS–H150 Quantum Sniffer Operator Training Implant Sciences Instructor Guide
- Only 200,000 companies in the USA export globally, learning how to export was the hard part. Now we can look forward to increased success as we turn our focus toward the U.S. marketplace.
- TSA certification will open up IMSC to the Air Cargo Screening facilities and the Air Transit Market in the United States
Our first order from the Chinese came in 2005, and we supplied 101 systems for the railways. Orders have increased and continued over time, and we are now selling to subways and several police forces, and our sales total 819 units to date. Even though we are facing a disadvantage as a result of time-consuming export licensing policies in the United States, as well as a 17% VAT on sales in China, Implant Sciences is able to compete because of our superior technology and applicability. In order to complete the India Ministry of Defense sale, our products were tested against all of our competitors, in several different environments. Implant Sciences won the deal for 226 units because our technology was able to withstand testing at all altitudes and temperatures, detecting all substances required, with faster clear down and recalibration. The Spanish Army sought after our products after experiencing operational difficulties with one of our competitor’s products. They needed a ETD system that could automatically recalibrate and be ready to use at a moment’s notice. Implant Sciences’s H-150 was able to calibrate and sample fast enough to better preserve the safety of bomb detection teams, especially those wearing the bomb suits.
Our total operating cost is much less than our competitors because we do not require calibration traps, verification traps, dopant, expensive desiccant, or mandatory desiccants. Because our machines have automatic, continuous self-calibration, powerful self-cleaning abilities, and a calibrant substance that is tested to work for several years, our products do not require extensive maintenance. According to our calculations, the total cost of ownership of 12 units over 3 years is over $115,000 less than our competitors.
Our products can test for explosives without contact, allowing screening to be non-contact and non-intrusive. We do not use radioactive materials to generate ions in our machines. We use fewer chemicals than our competitors’ systems, and do not use harmful dopants in our machines. Because we do not require contact sampling, our users are not required to purchase several hundreds of paper traps for swipe sampling.
Implant Sciences is Massachusetts based and operated. We are responsible for 50 jobs in Massachusetts. We have continuously sourced 95% of our inputs locally and almost 100% of our inputs regionally, which is also a means creating and maintaining jobs in Massachusetts. As Implant Sciences continues to grow, we can continue to hire more Massachusetts citizens. Each time we sell 45 units more than our annual sales volume, we can create another permanent job with our company. As we continue to grow, we continue to do more business with our suppliers in the state.
