Hosted by MVA and NMICF on Saturday, December 7, 2013, this year's HOM race is redeisgned and refined. The course starts at the foothills of the island's historical attractions at the Mariana Resort & Spa where racers will catch a quick glimpse of the WWII memorial sites before looping around the perimeter of the island. The final 25km canvasses Suicide Cliff, Bird Island and Banzai Cliff prior to attacking the fast flat from Last Command Post to the Mariana Resort & Spa.
Hafa Adai! Come join us on the Hell of the Marianas Century Cycle, the CNMI's largest cycling event. This cycling event attracts a fun and diverse group local resident, Guam and international riders from around the world. The race is fully supported with the support of our local community and CNMI's Department of Public Safety. Aid stations provide water, sports drink and fruit. After riding whatever distance you choose from 25km to 100km, relax and mingle with the island's cycling fans.

Marianas Century Cycle

2. What is the HOM?
• The Hell of the Marianas (HOM) is a 100km island
perimeter cycling race intended to attract not only local
and Guam participants, but also world class pro cyclists
from the region (Australia, Japan, Korea, Russia, China)
as one of the major sports tourism events for the CNMI.
• It was named “Hell” due to the challenging, hilly course
that takes advantage of the island’s majestic scenery.
Riders must navigate the course’s 1700 meter elevation.
• Awarded MVA’s 2008 Tourism Excellence “Most
Outstanding Tourist Attraction”
2
3. History of HOM
• PIC established the race in 2007 as part of the hotel’s
efforts to bring awareness to the Northern Mariana
Islands as a viable sports tourism destination as well as
to stimulate the local community to become more
physically active through cycling. The CNMI has one of
the highest rates of obesity and diabetes in the US
among all age groups and cycling is an affordable sport
to help reduce these health risks among the islands. An
international sporting event such as the “Hell of the
Marianas” bike race provides the island community
excitement, motivation and pride when welcoming
tourists to the friendly shores of the CNMI.
