Halifax is renewing its economic strategy with two alternatives for its vision. Alternative 1 envisions Halifax becoming a more creative and innovative hub city that provides increased well-being and high-value sustainable jobs through its competitive and globally-oriented economy, resulting in a quality of life envied worldwide. Alternative 2 envisions Halifax becoming a smart, international and competitive city where a high percentage of residents have post-secondary education, international business drives a high percentage of GDP, it has the most competitive Eastern Canadian business environment, and a number of high-value jobs have been created.
