2. Chapter 1
Once a bright sunny morning,Bethwoke up to the sweet calming sound of
birds. Her momKatharine was waiting downstairs for Bethso they can start their
chores. So Beth hurriedly took a shower andbrushed her teeth. Then she rapidly
put on her ragged shirt, and her dirty pants. She Finallystarted her chores by
cleaning the front porch. She always ate breakfast after she cleaned the front
porch. She knew she had a lot of work ahead of her, but she knew she would make
it through like any other day.
“Beth”, her mom called, “get back to work!” her mom yelled she was caught
day dreaming again. Beth would get caught day dreaming often while she was
doing her chores her mom didn’t know what she was thinking but she didn’t care
as long as the work got done. Beth would day dream everyday about becoming a
famous skater, but she always thought it was impossible because her family was
poor, and couldn’t afford skating lessons. Finally Beth went back to work
scrubbing the porch; after she was done she started eating. Once she finished
eating she continued on with her work washing dishes, scrubbing floors, and
more chores. Finally it was the end of the day and Beth was relieved and tired she
brushed her teeth changed into her pajamas and was ready to go to sleep from a
weary day. Before she went to sleep she went on her knees beside her bed and
prayed she said in her prayer “Lord my life is great lord my mother is caring
and hard working andmy father is earning enough money to support my
family the life you have given me is great lord and I know there are more
surprises you have in store for my life and in Jesus name Amen” after she was
3. done praying she tucked into her bed for the night. That night she had a very
encouraging dream. She dreamt she was in an ice rink and she was the boss of the
rink there were poor children running to her in ice skates. She welcomed them
with open arms she taught them the basics since they were beginners. After the
class the adults of the children thanked her for the free classes she was providing
for them and that they couldn’t thank her enough. She came home happy that day.
Once she woke up she kept repeating the dream in her head and she made up her
mind that, that the boss will be her. That day she went through with her regular
chores but with that dream still replaying in her head. She thought this dream
was more than a dream it was her future.
