conveying information; informing decisions, making a
request, providing a response to a question, making a
suggestion, presenting an informal report, proposing a
solution to a problem, or documenting a reference for
future use.

6. Documentary Memo:
It is type of memo.
It is used for the conveying information.
It is used to remind,to announce,to give instructions,to
explain policy or procedure,to your superior to confirm an
agreement.

documentary memos such report are called memo report.
7. Congratulatory Memos:
It is used to give credit to employees of organization for
outstanding work they have accomplished.
It is appropriate for Vice-Chancellor of a university to
send a memo to the faculty members congratulating of
outstanding contribution to field of research.
Similarly the employees also send their compliments in
the form of a memo to their officers,for the award or
achievements which the latter have earned.
8. Disciplinary Memos:
When employees violate the rules or breach the code of
conduct in an organization they will be served either with
a severe warning or any other punishment as decide by
the management.
The memo conveying this action known as Disciplinary
memo.
For instance, a memo may be issued to an officer who
has accepted bribe from one of the customers
