2. What Is Social Media?
Social media is the social interaction among people in which
they create, share or exchange information and ideas in virtual
communities and networks.
Andreas Kaplan and Michael Haenlein define social
media as "a group of Internet-based applications that build on
the ideological and technological foundations of Web 2.0, and
that allow the creation and exchange of user-generated content."

3. Social networking has become one of the most important
parts of our daily life as it enables us to communicate with a lot
of people. Social networking sites are created to assist in online
networking. These sites are generally communities created to
support a common theme.

4. What is Social Networking?
The great thing about the internet is that it opens the door to communication.
It is essentially a social hub where users can network. Social bookmarking is
often discussed with social networking. Social bookmarking occurs when an
individual shares their own list of bookmarks with other users. Social
networking occurs when you share bookmarks, communicate and interact
with other users. Think about it, when you find a site or even a picture that
you enjoy you send it to a friend. They visit it or look at it and then pass it
along. Slowly one is passed to another, thus creating a network of social
activity.

There is such a variety of social networking sites on
the web, such as
Facebook,
Tweeter,
Google+,
LinkedIn,
MySpace
 Wahtsup and etc…..

6. According to a new eMarketer report, almost one in four
people worldwide will use SNSs in 2013. The number of
SNSs users around the world will increase from 1.47 billion
to 1.73 in billion in 2012, here an 18% increase. By 2017, the
global SNSs viewers will be of total 2.55 billion. Now a day,
India has 243.2 million Internet Users and 106 million Active
Social Media Users, says “We Are Social” in its latest report
(Business 2 Community, July 3, 2014).

7. The Importance of Social Networking
If you have a good dentist and your friend needs a dentist you
will recommend your dentist. If your friend likes the dentist and
their friend has a tooth issue they will also recommend your
dentist. Slowly people will network and pass along valuable
dental information. At the end of the day the dentist increases in
popularity and business, without even advertising. This
harnesses the importance of social networking sites for the web.
The importance of social networking relates to increasing traffic
to your site and increasing awareness for your site. This means
that more people will become exposed to your business, which
means more users to convert to sales.

8. Social networking is important for many different reasons.
Social media lets people stay in touch with each other more
easily, as well as reconnect with people they may have once
known but have lost contact with. These sites also make it easy
to connect with people who share interests with you, even if you
are not located very near each other physically. You can also use
these sites to organize events quickly and easily and on very
short notice.

in Education, organization, marketing, business and etc... As
more and more people are on these networks, businesses are
discovering that they provide a very powerful marketing
platform that can spread news about their products or
promotions through word of mouth, without as much expense.

11. Conclusion
We have been able to develop a social networking site with library
and conference text chat. This application will majorly serve as a resource
center to undergraduates. The advantage students, lecturers and researchers
can share and exchange knowledge. By sharing information and knowledge
with one another, they are able to "increase both their learning and their
flexibility in ways that will not be possible within a self-contained
hierarchical organization." Social networking is allowing groups to expand
their knowledge base and share ideas, and without these new means of
communicating their theories might become "isolated and irrelevant".
