A general skill is a skill that you have that can be used
in more than one job, a few examples are;
• Good team worker
• Hard worker.
• Confident.
• Communication skills.
• Honest.
• Reliable.
• Organisation skills.
3. Teamwork:
• No arguments between the colleagues
• Jobs can potentially get done quicker.
• Bring ideas together.
• Share responsibilities between all the
employees.
• Potentially motivate people.
• More than just one technician and you will
have to work as part of a team.
4. Hard working:
• Complete tasks to their full potential and they
will work hard to get that task completed on
time.
• Good attendance.
• They will work as hard as they can to get a job
done on top of all their other jobs.
• Concentrate and work hard to get computers
fixed as it is very time consuming.

A Specific Skill is a skill that you have that
can only be applied to one job. Three
specific skills:
• College degree required
• Five (5) or more years of technical PC
support
• Help desk support experience
desired.
6. Requirements for a Computer
Support Technician :
• 5 or more years of technical PC support.
• You definitely know how to use a computer
and you know about them in detail not just in
general.
• You can learn others to use a variety of
programmes.
7. Requirements for a Computer
Support Technician :
• College degree required.
Why would you need this specific skill?
So that you can help people and help them learn how
to use a computer and become confident in using one.

• Show you would be able to work with other
people.

appropriate.

Active Engagement- Ask the audience what they think a general skill is..I am going to do this so that the audience feel more involved in my presentation and are not just sat there bored.
Teamwork: (interaction with audience)- at this point I am going to ask the audience why they think that a business would look for somebody who can work as part of a team- I will do this because then they might feel more involved.A business will look for somebody that can work as part as a team so that there are no arguments between the colleagues and the business will then look more professional.Also, the jobs can potentially get done quicker so that your not wasting time doing it on your own.Another reason you would want someone who can work as a team is so that you can bring ideas together so that they can get the best end result possible which will then develop the business further.they can also share responsibilities between all the employees so that one person has not just got all the pressure on them.Another reason why team work is valued to a business is that it could potentially motivate people because they might not want to let the other team members down or they might be competetive.Good team working skills would be appropriate to a computer technician, this is because you will have more than just one technician and you will have to work as part of a team at some point to get computers fixed ect.
Hard worker:Being a hard worker is valued by the business because when you set a task for them to complete you know that they will complete it to their full potential and they will work hard to get that task completed on time.Also, you know that if they are a hard worker then they will have good attendance as they will want to contribute to the business as much as they possibly can.Another reason that a business will look for somebody hard working is that then you know if you have any little tasks you need doing you could go and ask this employee that is hard working as you know that they will work as hard as they can to get that job done on top of all their other jobs.Being a hard working person would help in being a computer support technician as you will have to concentrate and work hard to get computers fixed as it is very time consuming and for other things like developing software programs ect.

The three specific skills I chosen to do for a Computer Support Technician are;College degree required; preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field.Five (5) or more years of technical PC support and related Information Technology support experience in an enterprise network; including hardware and software installation/un-installation; troubleshooting; application software support; printer/MFD support Help desk support experience desired.
Five (5) or more years of technical PC support and related Information Technology support experience in an enterprise network; including hardware and software installation/un-installation; troubleshooting; application software support; printer/MFD support This would be required to be a computer support technician because then the employer knows that you definitely know how to use a computer and you know about them in detail not just in general, this is because you are helping other people to know about computers and be able to use them therefore you need to know about all the different things you can do on a computer so you can learn others to use a variety of programmes.
College degree required; preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar field.To become a computer support technician this specific skill would be required as you cant help people and help them learn how to use a computer and become confident in using one if you aren’t confident in using one. The main job role is to help others and you can not do that if you don’t know how to use a computer yourself.
Requirements for a Computer Support Technician : Help desk support experience desired.This skill would be required as having experience with support others with computers would show you would be able to work with other people which is a good thing as this is one of your general skills. Also the main job is to support others with computers so by having experience supporting others this shows you have skills for the job that would be appropriate.
