Accomplishments
Managed a project to publish the Schering-Plough, Las Piedras Operations SOPs at the
company intranet using MS SharePoint to facilitate project communications. This project
resulted in savings in the time required to obtain SOP's approved copies and paper used to
print copies. Project documentation was used as a template to replicate the project at
Corporate Headquarters.
Led the Y2K initiative at Pharmacia Market Company, presenting the project at Corporate
Headquarters as an example to other locations.
Reorganized the communications infrastructure at Pharmacia Market Company obtaining
savings estimated in $20,000 annually.
Liaison among multicultural team responsible to implement BPCS into SKB's I Series and
used this project as a protocol for the global implementation. Groups from France, England,
US and Puerto Rico were represented.

Worked as a consultant for several companies in Puerto Rico, among them The Puerto Rico
Telephone Company/Claro, MMM, Motorambar, the “Comision Estatal de Elecciones” (CEE) and
DirecTV, Puerto Rico operations.
At PRT/Claro, worked at the SIF (“Solucion Integrada de Facturacion”) project at Puerto Rico
Telephone Company, analyzing and creating reports specifications, and coordinated the
validation activities for the reports. The HP Quality Center was used as the repository of tests and
results. Tools used included: MS SQL Management Studio, MS Visual Studio and MS Office
2007, Toad for Oracle (9.5), Oracle 9i Enterprise Edition, MS Office, HP Quality Center, MS
Project and Amdocs Ensemble.
Provided support to MMM, a healthcare services provider, as a systems analyst. Worked with
business analyst on several projects related to the Medicaid framework initiative, creating
systems requirements, explaining in detail the technical requirements for the developer's group to
work on. Used MS SQL to create scripts for the development process.

Developed an RFP for Motorambar, a local automobile wholesale distribution operation. Analyzed
the operations of Motorambar, documenting their uniqueness within the RFP for the vendor
selection process.
Developed a business requirement document for the Comision Estatal de Elecciones for their
Internet portal renewal.
Assisted DirecTV, Puerto Rico operations, as a project manager, managing two of the three key
projects for 2012 EOY. Worked with technical groups from India, Uruguay, California, New York
and Puerto Rico. Identified risks within the projects, providing work-around alternatives, and
presenting them to upper management.

2003 – 2009
Worked as a liaison among the business and technical areas, providing recommendations and
working on the solutions. Activities performed included:
Led an interface application between Schering-Plough's ERP system, PRISM, and
Loftware, communicating warehouse receiving label information from SP's I Series into
the Windows network. Identified functional requirements and assisted with the validation
of this application before going into production.
Provided technical assistance to Finance functional area, working on day-to-day issues
on the JD Edwards application and help to define and implement new projects.
Implemented an interface to extract Standard Operating Procedures from corporate
repository (GEDMS, Oracle database) as PDF files to be published at the site intranet,
solving a business need of cutting costs and expediting the process of SOPs retrieval by
functional areas by re-engineering the established retrieval process.
Technical administrator for GEDMS. Responsibilities included application upgrades and
patches, maintenance of the Oracle database and backup to the user administrator.
Assisted functional areas at their strategic planning meetings, providing technical
expertise.
Responsible for testing and validation of assigned projects within the IT Department, for
which, Installation Qualifications, Operational Qualifications and Performance
Qualifications and were developed and executed.

Worked as a Senior Systems Analyst for Pharmacia Corporation, among the multiple
assignments, the following were considered most relevant:
Updated a communications infrastructure, proposing, changing and reconfiguring both,
the communications equipment and carrier. Managed risks for the project due to the fact
that being a sales office, communications (voice & data) were required 24/7. Project was
implemented during a weekend.
Assisted establishing the yearly budget for the IT department.
Managed the Y2K project, presenting it at the Corporate Headquarters as an example to

Designed and implemented a sales report (IBM I Series-BPCS, MS Access and MS
Outlook) allowing upper management to monitor the daily sales per brand.
As a result of the lessons learned with the Y2K project, proposed and implemented a
complete DRP Revision.
Maintained site's network (Windows NT – Windows 2000), including backups and
security administration.
Implemented Arhios, an enterprise forecast tool, working with personnel from Mexico and
Italy.

Consultant for several companies in Puerto Rico. 1991 – 1998
Worked as an external consultant, including 2 years as a Senior Management Consultant for the
local office of Ernst & Young, for several companies within the pharmaceutical, insurance and
distribution industries at Puerto Rico. Clients included SmithKline-Beecham, Brystol-Myers,
Trans-Oceanic Life Insurance, Caribbean Restaurants, V & Suárez, Toyota de Puerto Rico,
Olympic Mills, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, Wyeth and Suiza Dairy. Three of the most outstanding
projects were:
Adapted a BPCS’ financial systems for two major local foods distributors (IBM iSeries).
Validated and implemented BPCS’s application at SmithKline Beecham. Assisted the
project manager as a liaison among project team members while executing the software
validation. (IBM I Series)
Completed the migration of an old S/36 to an I Series at an insurance company. A team
of 3 external resources and 5 internal resources were managed during this project.
Assisted in the developing of production reports within the JD Edwards application at
Wyeth.
As a business partner (Business Systems Technology, Inc. /1992-1995), participated in
the hiring, development and managing of a staff of 6 resources.
